I'm not really looking for another closed headphone, since I believe that even if they beat the Pro80, they're  going to have a hard time replacing my HP150. However, I have been thinking about adding an open headphone, just for the fun of it, and I actually thought about the HI2050.. But then they had increased the price etc, so I never pulled the trigger. That being said, I'd be very interested in hearing if that ISK one is better :)
i paid $36 for my HI2050, and if something happened to them i would pay $80 to replace them.

Keep me updated. But there's one problem you will compare the old version of the 2050's not the newer version.

Yea, I'm afraid so. I don't have the newer version and don't know how much better they are from the old one. But, is it just a difference in the ohms impedance?

Sounds good! I wasn't able to find them on ali though..

What's the difference between new and old version HI2050? I suppose mr grouchy blocked me (which was rather entertaining), but maybe someone else can answer that question?

I couldn't find them on Ali neither, but I found them here at TMALL World....

Hope this helps.

Let me know when you've had a chance to try them, sounds interesting!

How much is the shipping normally through a taobao agent? Or are you in the mood to pick a pair up for me and send them?

Ha! I was able to go to their main site and they happen to have a 1-800 number! ....Check with them first!

PS. About the "taobao agent"......sorry, I really don't know how that works. I live in China and don't need an agent.

Well, go try them and let me know, then I'll decide if it's worth the hassle :)

1-800 isn't that tempting, China is closer (although definitely not very close) to me than the US is :)

Why? I thought the ISK's are made by Takstar just under a different name. For example the ISK HF2010L are the same like the Takstar HI2050's.

Ah, my bad. All ISK models I've seen have looked like Super luxury but I see now that these are different :)

Hey, fellow Head-fier's, I was able to pick-up the ISK HF2010 yesterday during lunchtime at another Takstar headphone shop!

I was doing a quick analysis on the sound signatures last night checking the different tunings with all four headphones, which I found very entertaining!

Here goes my picks......

1. ISK HP2011:  VERY transparent! Details from one end to the other are incredible on these with great soundstage and are my current favorite! No need to mod!

2. ISK HF2010:  They are a close second with a very nice bass response followed by a great presentation on the vocals and treble and also with excellent soundstage. No need to mod!

3. Takstar Pro80:  Soundstage (for me) are a tad better than the HI2050 and sound bold and rich, which I still enjoy very much (after modding them).

4. Takstar HI2050:  Soundstage falls just behind the Pro80's and sounds way above their price range, but can get a little grainy with fast-paced music. But, overall vocals and details are good.

Note:  I will be posting all four headphone picks by next week!

PS. I personally think 'peter123' is right about having there own thread. They do carry there own name apart from Takstar and are tuned differently.

What mods did you do? Would you say that the HF2010 would be a worthy investment over the HI2050?

The mod I performed was relatively easy and was only done for the Pro 80's.

The pro80's, just like most dynamic headphone speakers carries a light-clear, black, or white mesh film on the back of their speakers to help adjust the sound output -small circled ports. Depending on the type of housing you can cut-out the mesh for more bass, or sub-bass output, which then triggers the soundstage, midrange and even treble to change. In this case a total of 5 ports were cleared and cut by me to create the perfect sub-bass, stage and treble I was looking for.

This is not my actual pick, but I found the image on Yahoo as an example.....

Now, for the HF2010 investment?......YES! Clearly they tend to hit the notes on both ends more precisely and crystal clear (in all respect) when compared to the HI2050, which falls short on comparison. The HF2010, also fairs way better with a large scale of genre with a larger soundstage and plenty of sizzle!

So best soundstage ISK HP2011 or what? So do you recommend them for gaming?
