Hey everyone, happy Sunday

I just got an email from Earphone Solution. They are having a Christmas promotion, selling the Phonak PFE012 for $29.99! That is an insane value!

I know Peter and a few others on here have them and will vouch for them.

This is definitely one of the greatest deals of the year. I would buy another one if I didn't already have two pairs.

What? Only two? What's wrong with you? There's 3 filters available, you should have at least one pair of each.

Seriously though, $30 is a crazy-ass good deal.

And also, every time I think of the word twister, I think of those discontinued chicken wraps KFC used to sell. Damn those things were delicious!

Ha. I remember those. I liked the spicy ones

That's the exact same logic I use when justifying my purchases! :D

Is there a code or something? I see them at $100 down from $120. Might spring for them if I can get the super secret smoothie deal

EDIT: Derp! Found the code...

EDIT #2: Are the filters the small acoustic filters used in Etys? If so, this will be fun, as I bought a bunch of them from an electronics store to play around with awhile back.

No, pfe filters are different from Ety filters unfortunately.

Boo! Where do you get them?

Specifically, the grey filters. Look like they're out of stock everywhere...

That'll be the sucky part. The grey will be pretty scarce by now, but I'll keep an eye open and let folks know if I find some (thankfully I stocked up a while ago)

If you want some movie bass you've got to try the Interstellar OST.

The best movie bass I can remember is the Last Samurai soundtrack.

The second Lord of the Rings end battle is incredible also. I think I watched that last battle scene several times just because of the incredible bass and fidelity.

WOW!! You're the first person I've seen on Head Fi who's listened to James Horner's fantastic Titanic score!

Nice!

There you go...

absorbing album.... love to listen to this deep in the night....
the rustle in the forest, waiting for the samurais to charge. :P
( one has to watch the movie to appreciate it better )

...to get a feel of one of the epic composition

Wow that's a lot to catch up with for a weekend of not reading up! Thanks for all the great recommendations! I really like Hans Zimmer's and James Horner's music scores! Didn't realise Interstellar's score was by Hans Zimmer.

One of my favourites, a fresh retake on a classic.

I got the Angled HM5 pads today and I am trying them on for the last little bit.

1. Huge improvement in comfort for me. Right away, 100% more comfortable for me. Not even kidding about that
2. Soundstage reacted exactly as I predicted it would. It is bigger and not as congested as before. Less bass and better soundstage. It feels like a sphere of sound around my head.

Betting back to the bass, I feel it is tighter and more punchy with less mid bass. The tonal balance was warmer than neutral, and now its closer to neutral. Easier to hear more micro details. To my ears, its a pretty noticeable upgrade in sounds. Pretty crazy how much a pair of pads can affect the sound!

IMO the Angled velour pads are a must for the V2.

Gah man now I gotta start sourcing for them here. However it seems like my V2s haven't shipped yet..? It's been 13 days. Tracking page just says 'Electronic notification of shipment'.
