I had six universals starting with the UE SF5 Pro and ending with the Westone 3. Then I added up all the cost, realized I could have afforded a custom and sold everything but the Shure SE530, which I kept for gym, because of the modular cable that goes well with the iPod Shuffle.

Now I have a JH16 Pro and a JH13 Pro on order. As good as some of today's high-end universals are, nothing beats a custom (with a proper fit), IMHO.

Having fewer IEMs also simplifies getting the best cables...

67 different models in total, maybe 70 if I counted the duplicates. The number probably will go up before the end of the month. I must confess that many are review samples given to me freely. I don't sell them as I use them to build up my A/B comparison reservoir, plus I don't want to benefit financially from the free samples.

I keep buying stuff, but I also keep working my way back to one. I stick with the one product that I use the most. For a long time it's been my OK1. High sound quality and high realism are big points in my book. Some earphones can do one but struggle with the other.

Current list:
OK1
Triple.Fi 10
Custom 3
RE252

It will end up back at one in the near future. Then...I'll buy some more.

The FAD's are missing from your list James, have you got rid them?

^ I still have them, and since they pair well with the A845 they even get more playtime lately. But Duncan was asking about IEMs / Canalphones and I regard the FADs rather as earbuds than IEMs.
