Headphoneus Supremus
Looks like a driver swap will lead to a little aesthetic damage. Of course there's the risk of losing the driver in the process, but that depends on the glue holding it in place. It was my first planar/ortho...I had no idea what I was doing. I still have the magnet.
I just got these: Taction Kannon
Anyone recognize the driver? 40mm I think. Headphones look like audio-technica and it has a board and solder plates that do remind of audio-technica. People have said it's just a m40x/m50x with tactile driver but obviously it's not.
Batteries in both cups.
That black box under the battery is the tactile driver, or case for it anyway.
I don't know if I should try a driver replacement or sell these. That dynamic driver could be (alot) better. Not much to work with on the inside with all the wires and stuff so good driver might go to waste. It's hilariously entertaining headphone but not really best match for my music taste.
Either way, that might lower the re-sale price.
Personally I don't think it's worth it.
Either EQ it to your taste, or keep it as a novelty headphone. I've got a few other novelty headphones, but I feel like they're best kept in original form.
I mean... don't let me sway you, you do you just doesn't seem like a huge payoff for a headphone that's got a giant buzzing motor inside
