The Headphone Driver Pics Thread

I've been curious about these for a long Time and finally found one in europe.

40mm ironless magnesium driver. That ironless magnet system is supposed to do something about controlling eddy currents. I did not pay attention in school so that stuff went over my head. All I know it has 20 seperate magnets kind of like Focal.

I was expecting to find some cool ring of 20 small magnets. But it looks like most magnets out there. Would have been cool if they were visible.

I was curious to test how powerfull the magnet is so I touched it with a screwdriver. I'm not sure if the baffle really slided towards the screwdriver but IT was one heck of a SNAP! I was scared wires got disconnected, luckily that did not happen. It's ridiculously powerfull magnet.

If anyone has seen back of this driver before could you tell me If that black stuff over the paper is supposed to be there? That thing next to wire board. It looks out of place. I don't want to open another cup as it is bit of a pain to do that.IMG_20200912_001116.jpgIMG_20200912_000540.jpg

Here’s an exploded diagram of the magnet setup. Pretty interesting.

Not headphone drivers but IEM drivers that can actually probably fit into a 40mm headphone casing. https://www.alibaba.com/product-det...724857.videoBannerStyleB_top.3.39606c264PMUl1 IEM planar drivers. Would really like to see somebody review them. It'd be even more interesting to see someone compare the IEM drivers against the k99/k100 500ohm drivers from Aliexpress which are also found on Alibaba iirc but also definitely on TaoBao. The planar IEM driver might even be able to fit into a 40mm headphone casing because the driver has a diameter of 40mm.

Owo how did u separate the magnets from the diaphragm? Does the magnet just slide out from the housing?
I was scared to do anything with them but i wanted to align the holes of both of the magnets

After posting that, i noticed that my t20 v2 (also known as t20rp v1... Confusion ) have different wires that connects the drivers and also slightly different magnet structure from ur's.

This is my t20 v2

That's weird....
In both my original Fostex T10 and T20v2 the magnet came out with the plastic housing.
Uhm.... unless it was put back in backwards and is attracted to the other magnet instead of being repelled.... in which case - Big Oof.

Ohh.... OH sweet Jesus.
As long as you peel the magnets apart carefully without touching the diaphragm, it should be completely salvageable.

It was my first planar/ortho...I had no idea what I was doing. I still have the magnet.

I just got these: Taction Kannon

Anyone recognize the driver? 40mm I think. Headphones look like audio-technica and it has a board and solder plates that do remind of audio-technica. People have said it's just a m40x/m50x with tactile driver but obviously it's not.

Batteries in both cups.

That black box under the battery is the tactile driver, or case for it anyway.

I don't know if I should try a driver replacement or sell these. That dynamic driver could be (alot) better. Not much to work with on the inside with all the wires and stuff so good driver might go to waste. It's hilariously entertaining headphone but not really best match for my music taste.
