"Battery Exhausted - Shutting Down" message:

My X5 first generation has worked fine since I bought it in May 2016, but last night it began to refuse to start up. It begins the start up process but then shows the message "Battery Exhausted - Shutting Down" and then shuts down.  I've tried to charge the battery (which I think is largely charged already) but the X5 shuts down as soon as the picture of the battery comes on the screen.  Plugged in, the X5's charging light is green but it won't start up. Pushing the reset button had no effect.  How can I fix this problem?  I love this little player!

You can talk with Fiio, I think they can hep you replace the battery if you send it to them. I remember they were very helpful to other people with battery issues.

Any idea what happens when you plug this into a USB DAC? Does it route the signal through USB?

I've really enjoyed the X5 but with just about every headphone, there seems to be an upper mid range hump which is distractingly obvious. The emphasis is a bit below treble which could add a bit of artificial detail, instead it just sounds like it's overly forward.

Maybe I'll try the X3 again.

There is no hump. It measures flat.

Hi, has anyone here been able to rollback their firmware after updating to 2.7? I wanted to go back to 2.6 (OTG support) but the X5 does not recognise the file.

Download again, and paste to the microSD card.

From experience and memory, you can downgrade the firmware if you want to...
