i find using the e11 with x3 is a real nice combination, i feel so much power coming out this combination, and when i boost the bass in the e11 it really gives a great sound in this  combination. 
 
We need to understand why this happens

I have been using my X3 now for over a month and I am very happy. The mid bass issue I had initially with line out was due to an issue with the X3 and my Millett Hybrid amp not playing nice together.
I got my normal preamp back and now it sounds fantastic. I listen to mostly mp3 in Random. When I want to listen to albums, I have them in FLAC. I have had no crashes, lockups of any kind (knocks on wood). Gapless has worked flawless for me on FLACS. Haven't needed to use it with mp3. For the $200 I spent, it is very worthwhile for me.
Are there still things I would like? Absolutely. For me USB OTG is the one thing I would like.
I am using it as a stationary music player in my main system, and for that I find it just the ticket.

Not quite sure where you are heading...

I own E07, E10 but I use X3 in preference as it's an all in one.
I don't own any higher end DACs ('cept one that's WIP)
I do have ODAC and 2 HiFiMeDIY Sabre DACs (v1,v2), ODAC built in to O2 amp for home PC use (HD650) and HiFiMeDIY for laptop bag and/or iPad, and a few other Head Amps.

If I had [COLOR=6A6A6A]Bottlhead Crack and HD6xx I'd probably look for a higher end DAC.[/COLOR]

the sabre DAC v2 is asynch and probably worth the extra (?) either will be just fine.

Alright, I'll have to give this a shot when I get home from vacation. Right now, I've just got my iPhone 5s, X3' and E12 v1 along for the ride.

Hi guys, i'm buying the X3 at the end of the month, hopefully I just have 2 silly questions (read last 15 pages and couldn't find an answer):

Will X5 firmware released for the X3 as I previously read on some old threads?

I have a pair of Audéo PFE 112, with 32ohm impedance. Will X3 be a nice choice for them? I'll upgrade the IEMs next year

My pfe111s sound quite nice with the x3 esp. with the grey filters. A step up in sound from my ipod/e6 combo for sure.
