This Slt6 grabs my attention. I see they use sonion BA's so that's a good thing. Only one review on headfi sadly. They went under the radar from what I've seen. Can you confirm if they have any vents and did you have any ear pressure with them? Also how was the fit?
I agree with what @Thieme said about the fit.
They are very comfortable iems.
As for the sound, i find them kinda boring when both switches are at OFF position but when i put both switches at ON position then the magic begins.
The vocals become even more forward and clear, the bass gets stronger and the soundstage become bigger and wider.
They starting to sound more fun and immersive.
I have a small local audiophile group of people and everyone of them who tried the SLT6 (6 people) liked them the most.
Even more than much more expensive sets.
I'm not one of them, i still prefer iems like SR8, Shock, RE2000, ME600, H60.
But it's just my personal taste.
The SLT6 are very impressive iems for their price and i think that they sound way more impressive than sets like phantom, ej07, punch, studio 4, mest mk3 etc...

Thank you! Man, this iem is really tempting me. 2 questions. The way @mrsergey described the vocals on his post above, do you agree?
And lastly, no ear pressure because of the vent but also very good at noise cancellation? I can have the cake and eat it too?
I don't have the proper ears nor a lot of experience with different sets to really comment on that.

I've been flat out with work of late but have finally found some time to sample a couple of goodies that arrived earlier in the week - The ISN H20 earphones along with Penon's flagship Totem cable.

My first impression of the H20s is they deliver the sort of punchy, meaty sub bass I've come to associate with the ISN brand. They're substantially thick, warm with palpable note weight that reminds me of the Penon Quattros although the H20s feel even meatier with greater midbass emphasis.

Physically the shells are quite small by modern hybrid standards - bucking the recent trend towards larger IEMs as we see drivers like BCDs become more prevalent, and a broader range of exotic configurations proliferate. Certainly my initial feelings towards the H20s suggest they'll do very well in fleshing out & thickening excessively lean recordings, lending them a welcome feeling of gravitas.

Then we have the Totem. This is a cable I've wanted to try for years, and having sampled many of Penon's offerings I've often wondered if their flagship Totem would really be superior to them.

Any doubts on that front were quelled mere seconds upon first listen after plugging the Totem into my CIEM Mest MKIIIs. Totem's superb dynamic range, 3D soundstage with copious depth & hugely impressive resolution make it obvious why this is their flagship cable. What's further impressed me is how light & pliable this cable is, since flagship cables are generally monsters where the price one must pay for performance is as much comfort as cost - but less the case here. The cable also arrived with a trio of 4.4mm plugs built from various materials that promise further tweaking possibilities which should prove interesting.

After suitable burn-in I'll complete full reviews of both the H20 & Totem, so stay tuned for those. In the meantime thanks for reading, and happy audio adventures!
The Totem is the best cable I have ever heard. Cheers!

I welcome those who might be so inclined to check out my ISN H60 brief review.

I've been wanting to hear this thing since forever, and it was made possible by the Audio Geeks Europe group and their tours - big thanks!

And to debrief, yes, this set does jazz and rock beautifully. A ~300€ Gatekeeper.

4+1 for $700 would be a big NAH for me. I don't care who's releasing it, when you have some 4+1 in the $200 range that are BALLERS and punching above their weight. In today's market, if you are over $500, you better bring some EST's, BCD's, MPL, or something to that effect if you want to be competitive, and we're talking multiples of those arrays.

and look at that 999 USD - Campfire's Alien Brain 4+1 that Jaytiss described as one of the best releases of this year so far

I am using Xinhs K01 and loving it
Most people Ive talked to think it sounds great with the stock cable, I'm gonna try XINHS K12, IVIPQ-532, ZISIN-12 and a bunch of others I have on hand to see if I can detect some differences.

TRN Xuanwu planar plus BA
TA4 2dd 2ba
V90s 5ba 1dd

IMHO SR8 lacking DD needs copper to get more out of bass

I'm not one of them, i still prefer iems like SR8, Shock, RE2000, ME600, H60.

I have same in my collection except for Shock which I intended to buy but instead will get Archangel

My discovery : BGVP is not wasting your money; their eartips came in these nice boxes that can be repurposed

Campfire Audio Alien Brain (Balanced and punchy bass, clean, warm, and incisive midrange, and crisp and airy treble, with dimensional stage)

No, just no. A kilobuck cannot look so cheap and tacky no matter the 'idea' behind it. But we're here for the sound, right? ... Right??

The Forte Ears Mefisto have landed and it's a homerun...

This is how an expensive IEM should look. Captivating. Though I'm unsure about the claws. Tell us more about these special things!

First impressions – I/O Audio Volare

I recently scored a deal on a used pair of Volare, and honestly, I couldn’t pass it up.

Right off the bat: the bass is visceral, with more sub-bass than any other set I own. That said, I still slightly prefer the mid-bass texture and punch of the Dunu Zen Pro. Where the Volare really shines, though, is in its separation and imaging — easily the most technical IEMs in my collection so far.

Despite being a tribrid, the tuning is incredibly coherent — nothing feels out of place or disjointed across the frequency range.

Build quality is excellent, but I do have a few nitpicks:
  • The case is unnecessarily huge, yet it barely fits the IEMs with the stock cable.
  • The stock cable is thick and bulky. I definitely prefer the one from the Zen Pro in terms of feel and usability.
Still, very impressed overall. Looking forward to spending more time with them!
Great purchase, this will only grow on you further. I've said it multiple times already, it's a pausegame set. And a looong pause at that. Try different sources if you've got the chance, midbass is tremendous to my ears.

Love the enthusiasm and this surely sounds great! Only one little tiny thing bothers me - take off that protective foil on the 2pin connectors! :D
