Kinda a shame about the personalized ear shape tuning though. That had a lot of potential to really push immersion even further. Seems like one of those cool ideas that got quietly shelved because realistically speaking i dont think it would have been monetarily feasible.

If i recalled it right, at the time Sony Xperia line have rear sensor that being used to judge distance for the camera system.
that sensor repurposed by sony as makeshift 3D scanner. I think this the tech that sony want to use to get the ear structure data for that personalized 3D audio tuning.

@-rowan- @jbfps116 Glad you like the "芒种" (máng zhǒng), -rowan-. I do find them to be a bit big for my ears but they still fit well. The bass definitely clears up a bit with use. Compared to the MJ, it is lighter in bass impact even though the graph I was shown seemed to have a higher bass shelf by a couple of dBs. The MJ is unabashedly warm, but still with good details in upper mids and lower treble. It's also smaller and not as thick which is a plus for my ears. What did you pay for it?
I'm still having trouble with accessing the Tiandirenhe store. They are almost ready to open a second store that will be able to ship to Europe.
One more thing: When I made my last order, by messaging, I asked for 1 extra set of the MJ since I had seen it online before and it had said one piece left. They said that it's no longer available. I'm going to buy the new version of the TD19 which is an updated driver with new tuning when the new shop opens.

Letshuoer DX1 vs Sound Rhyme SP01 coming next...
That's funny, I had the same inclination to compare these two in my write up as well! Great minds think alike 😁
You're confirmed?! Looking forward to finally meeting you in person then! We're gonna have one hell of a great party!
I should be good for just the Saturday. I'll drive up in the morning and head back home when it's done. My son's birthday is that Sunday so I'll obviously prioritize spending it with him and the family. You only turn 4 once after all.

I got these Juzear Clears and the Tanchjim Luna DAC today. Someone in this thread recommended these badboys during the last AliE sale, and I got them for around 27 bucks. Sharp V-shape with deep rumbly bass and lively, but low-budget highs, they're kinda memey, but so fun! More than worth it for that thick cable alone, the best stock cable of any IEM I own. A nice lil set to play with until my TRN Shell and Kiwi Aethers should arrive on Wednesday :L3000:
Definitely one of the best stock cables under $100. Love that one!
Didn't the May get good reviews? Wasn't that a DSP IEM though? Those micro planars are da shizz!! Makes the Aurora Ultra and Shell sing!
I just snagged one from reddit for $30. Excited to try it. First Moondrop I've bought since B2 Dusk a couple years ago 👍
I have already started on my next iem, the Oriolus Szalayi lol.
Keep chasing that dragon, Lee! 🐲 🏃‍♂️

Bass O Meter?
The RR11 works wonders as a portable amp. Has a nice analog style sound and there's 2 bass boost modes to toggle through. Now just to take out that pesky radio function and make it smaller 😆
I have received multiple emails regarding the tariffs from Chinese sellers. Not only are prices going up, but there is some indication of suspended business in our country. It is a sad day for our hobby.
Fixed it for you 😪
Appreciate the heads-up! As someone who’s definitely treble sensitive, I’ve still been curious about the DX1 after hearing so many people praise its resolution and snappy bass, but knowing it leans more toward an energetic, upper-mid-forward presentation gives me pause. If it’s even a touch tamer than the EA1000, that might be manageable for me...but it still sounds like it could toe the line for my ears. That said, the clean mid bass and present sub bass sound right up my alley. I love bass that’s articulate and not overly boomy.
Take it from a fellow treble sensitive audiophile, the DX1 is not sibilant prone incisive. It reminds me of the Mystic 8 really. Neutral but not boring. Obviously not the same technical performance though.

Muse hifi M5 Ultra is an easy rec IF you don't intend to use it as a BT DAC/Amp, but wired instead. BT range is laughable - that said, there is no interference at any point in either of the modes.

It sounds fantastic and looks the part too. Tubes make some sets so much more emotional it's crazy. And I don't feel as if that comes at a real deficit in technicalities either. In SS, it sounds noticeably sweeter and more resolving than my good ol' BTR7.

Listening to BGVP NS10 Pro currently, and I listened to VE Zen 3.0 earbuds for 4h+ at work earlier. @bithalver, thanks for lending me this blue box of joy.

It is fine if it is in front of you on desktop on BT.

I assume that we'll start to see retailers pop up in other countries with more favorable tariff rates who specialize in importing Chinese goods to the US. Those secondary retailers will obviously take their cut off the top, but it'll still be cheaper than buying direct from China. It's how I already buy my Onitsukas once Asics stopped selling the brand directly to the US (I'm not about to start spending $500 for my sneaks!).

It sucks, obviously, but there will be workarounds soon enough. The bigger issue IMO is the overall state of the global economy, its impact on all of our wallets, and the diminished importance of luxury goods in general.

Dude I just bought one from the classifieds and it's coming in TODAY! I know @MakeItWain loves his too so I'm psyched to try it out! BT range isn't a big deal for me since I plan to use it wired 90% of the time anyways.

The beauty of this country is that we can sue the President to place injunctions on these EO's, so I imagine this will also happen? Bet on it.

Won't make a damn bit of difference, especially if these suits reach SCOTUS. 6-3 edge -- they're in Trump's back pocket.
I do, too. Aegis (left one on the pic) is much nicer imo.

This bling curmudgeon thinks both shells are GORGEOUS!
Moral of the story: Buy your new Chinese IEMs from Amazon NOW if they're in stock in a U.S. warehouse. I'm doing that this week with the Volume S, after I sell my ZMF Aeolus over-ears.

The new market from China will be completely f*cked very soon. We're going to pay twice as much as now, if not more. Get ready for that $3,500 iPhone, too.

Totally self-inflicted stupidity. So much winning.

If you're thinking of an IEM or cable cull, Disco threaders, I would wait for a month or so to see how these tariff follies shake out. If the tariffs remain, the used market will EXPLODE, and used sellers will have the leverage to command higher prices than today.

Yeah, I know about that audio ray tracing feature on PS5...it seems to be pretty impressive, especially for enhancing immersion and positional awareness. Stuff like Returnal taking full advantage of it with detailed spatial cues (like the rain) seems like a great showcase. Makes me curious how it actually compares to something like Dolby Atmos on PC or with dedicated sound cards. I havent really contemplated that enough.

The bass is laser focused in it's note resolution. My favorite trait of the DX1 (aside from the treble, but I'm a suckah for the trebs!).
Does anyone know when the Letshuoer DX1 will be available?
Nope. Hopefully before May 2nd, but as of today, no word from Letshuoer on an on sale date.

You are welcome ! I am eager to hear your opinion on M5U + Volare.
