LOOL ... well "middle age" is now a term that is shifting to older and older (or as I prefer to say ... to "more experienced and wiser")
55 is the new 35.
Experience and wisdom are usually just healed wounds.

Why are y'all still resisting, join the dark side.

I see so many of you searching for different tastes in IEMs, but why not try a completely different form factor instead? These are an Easy all day listen. Venture Electronics Zen LL ❤️

So my 11.11 purchases ended up being rather humble compared to my insane summer sale spending, as was as follows...

FiiO JM21
AFUL Explorer
7hz FIVE
XINHS Summer Elves cable
XINHS G88 pure copper cable (for ISN Neo1)
Shanling L3 pure silver interconnect

Over and out, captain. Until the next summer sale, though I'm probably skipping it next year, to save up for CanJam expenditures?
Nice haul mate, but how did you even manage to get the JM21 in stock? I kept rechecking the Ali page the entrie day. But it was always showing out of stock! 🥲

I had both MagicOne and Explorer in the AE cart while stumbling into Tri i3 mk3 for $130 with coupons.
Decisions decisions....
Explorer. 'nuff said.

Will be looking forward to your impressions mate. I already have 2 DAP's, don't need a third. But something about this JM21 makes me want to buy it, maybe it's my Indian genes which is always looking for a good deal or a bargain 🤣

H60 is still king! The Fan 3 has more of a neutral, correct sound, but the H60 is more dynamic and almost supernatural in comparison. Both need more LOW subbass rumble IMO
Try PEQ on H60.....all it takes is a slight +2 to +3 dbs from 20 to 250 Hz to uplift the whole experience to a totally different level ,Any PEQ would do the job either it comes from Mango OS ( i Basso daps) or using Hiby app for music reproduction.......both of those are trusty and HQ (reproduction wise) equalizers...The sub bass on H60 gets to be impactful and agile obtaining a most satisfying ooomph.....

This was a really good read on the Aful Cantor. Really goes deep into the technology behind the SQ. It's worth a look..

https://www.headfonia.com/aful-cantor-review/

Man, this review makes me want to listen to Cantor now. Bye.

Quick update about Anvil on day 2: I think I tame the IEM now. The trick is (1) using the stock sticky tips and (2) pinch the back of the shells against the ears to ensure good contact. It’s hard to be 100% whether the BCD is working, but using the same tracks that MEST III impressed me, I hear similar kind of soundstage. It’s not like you turn on dolby atmos on airpods, but there is something uncanny/holographic about the stage that is so fun to listen.

Tuning is also quite clever. I have to stop myself from measuring before finishing impressions to avoid bias, but I really want to see how they tune this one. The whole presentation feels “fresh” and clean, but it’s not harsh or thin or piercing at all, even when I cannot fit the IEM as deep as I prefer.

It still blows my mind that $200-ish IEMs like P7 and Anvil exist.

It's the magic of BCD I think

similar experience with Shock, I dampen the mids bore to make them lower in quantity, especially lower trebles around 6khz and light dampen the treble opening tube but I up the knob full on treble knob (or the Brown knob). These make overall tuning better, and thicker as more bodied mids and no splashy lower trebles. But no matter what, the mids are very clear, with the visceral bass playing on different layer but never feels disjointed, stay coherent altogether. I'm really sold to BCD.
waiting for the M.Hawk cable now to become "Shocking Elite Hawk"

I think it will be around $800
Considering the Shock also have 8 drivers
2DD + 2BA + 2BA + 2BC at $600
But this time swapped the 2BA for highs with EST and addition $200 price tag to cover the EST.

maybe can be less if they subtract the cost of the dial knob system on Shock and want to shake Thieaudio Origin hype.
ISN EBC80 has the same drivers configuration as the BGVP Phantom.
The phantom cost $800-$900.
So i think as well that it's gonna cost around $800.
Haha was going to yell about shocking Shock price.
No BCD at those price = no dice
BCD>>>>>>EST
I have 4 iems with BCD driver in them.
Unique melody mini mest.
Unique melody mest.
Unique melody mest mk2 (sold).
Tension mirai shock.
Penon fan 3.

I feel the BCD effect only on the fan 3.
I hope the anvil114 gonna change it.
Oof! So many pages to comb through today but that's what 11/11 does. This sale was pretty meh for me but to be fair I wasn't really looking for much. Ended up just grabbing the ivipQ Welfare cable which I've been eyeing for a few weeks. I hope it's as nice as the 530 cable, which you probably all know by now that I love.
This cable look sick.
