These IEMs with Divinus Velvet, BTR5, stock cable, EQ to taste is as fun as it gets. Kinda like "embracing the imperfection" (AAC bluetooth, EQ). I also use these with my ROG Ally for gaming.
What I can’t get is how much the bass changes going from stock ear-tips to the Orange Penon Liqueur Ear-tips? More bass, yet it is not messing with the midrange that much....or pace? I’ll try the Velvets.

Looking a maybe getting a Jupitor (not a fan of collabs but im interested). Now how in the world would anything we know about Ziigaat transfer to a full sized effort? Who the hell knows but im certainly interested thats wild i had no idea they even had a full sized until like 2min ago

Yeah bro, Moondrop QC is actually one of the worst.

So many reports of paint peeling off shells, faceplates dropping off, channel imbalance, nozzles rusting etc.

There were even forum reports of their recent expensive Dark Saber cracking in the shell within 1 week of purchase: https://www.reddit.com/r/headphones...hought_this_only_happened_to_kz_iemsrip_dark/

BUT NO WORRIES. THE WAIFU INSIDE THE PACKAGING WILL WASH AWAY ALL SORTS OF TUNING FLAWS AND CRAPPY QC. NO WORRIES, WAIFU WILL SOLVE EVERYTHING!

Moondrop QC is interesting because they often found something new to crap on.

"Paint chipping ? Please, that so pedestrian. Ours bubbles"

"Your 3 month old $800 iem 2 pin connector broke? Yeah, that would be $300 to fix thank you. Warranty? Thats for peasant"

yeah, I think they started with the wrong price bracket, its hard to take seriously noname brand in $500+ while you have known good cans a-la aunes/harmonicdynes/hifimans/sennh's for half the price

Quick size comparo. L to R: 634ears Miroak-II, Symphonium Titan, Elysian Diva (tilted to show its longest side)

IMG_4716.jpeg

Diva is a chonky one for me, almost too large for long-term comfort. Miroak-II is small, which makes it a bit difficult to use heavy cables with. Titan is just about Goldilocks in size. Like I mentioned earlier, no wings or quasi-custom moulding, so likely to fit more ears even if it may not be the most comfortable or provide the most support for some. And no sharp edges.

There’s another post with more size comparisons here.

And how is the comfort? Is it larger than the Helios SE or Meteor? I'm not sure if I should pull the trigger. Thank you :)

You could also try asking in the Watercooler thread where there may be folks with access to all three :)

Legato?

Never really liked the tuning and the rather poor resolution. So time to investigate what it is all about. (I didn't drop it to open it)20240410_160027.jpg20240410_160045.jpg20240410_160113.jpg

Assuming that this is the Legato, I had been contemplating taking mine apart to see if there was any space behind the face plate to add some material to potentially reduce resonance within the shell. The image you have shared would suggest not.

Additionally wondered about drilling a hole (or holes) in the face plate (whilst detached) to convert into a semi-open back.

I'm still burning mine in and don't hate it so far, so am cautious about making any permanent changes to mine at this stage, but if you are willing to experiment on yours ...

Edit: btw, can you share an image of the underside of the face plate?

Yup Legato. You should have roughly 0.5mm of space between the capacitors and the back side of the faceplate, should be enough for some kind of vibration absorption stickers.

I don't think you need to convert it to semi-open back, it is already an open-back. You can put filter papers to the 3 holes to make it more "semi-open-back" instead. The 3 holes in the faceplate I assume they are large enough for the back side airflow so maybe drilling an extra hole won't really make a difference.

Hmmm... I am not sure at this stage but it seems that the 8 capacitors are in two groups of 4 which can be reduced to 1 in each group and their purposes are unknown to me.

Edit: oh ok...Looks like the 8 caps are more for the "inner-aesthetic" purpose only, which can be replaced with 1 single cap and it only act upon the 6mm driver, nothing unique and no real development here. It's equivalent to just a single cap and the 6mm driver in series.....
