I got some Aful 1 information. I also got to demo it at Can Jam. It was very unique. I have photos but they are pretty low-resolution with poor lighting. It's a unique tuning and it sounds like a really cool project.

The Aful performer 1 was doing some interesting things. They had it in a green faceplate design, a blue one that I listened to and I'm seeing pictures in white. I saw Zeos at the Booth and he was trying to get them to make it a Collab. I have some more information on it, like impedance. I'll definitely be buying one when it comes out and will post a review on Youtube, and possibily a review on head fi.

I got an Aful 8 early, but I may or may not get a new Aful 1 early hard to tell. I love the company they do special things.

As for me I found Neon Pro too thin compared to SR8. Aurora is also rather soft, but can shine with the right amps. Maybe you didn't try all combinations with the Butastur in terms of tips and amps/dacs?

Its funny, for me, SR8 sounds just congested.

Still looking for a BA that clearly surpasses the SA6og (not looking at you 12t)

I think the point of the discussion, its like the post of @FreeWheelinAudioLuv2 somen pages ago. Everyone looking for different things on music, I really like warm iems, so when someone tells that BLESSING 2og is a nice iem (it really is) I know we are not going to like the same equipment.

Another question it's about hype, and people that recommend stuff over 100€ (me included) to other people on internet.

The faceplate looks like SR8!
HAHA, it does................I had to recheck what the SR8 looks like.

But......maybe it's the Globe Mark 2 2023?

Only 4 drivers per side.
  • 2 Sonion BA for medium frequency
  • 1 Knowles BA for high frequency
  • 1 10mm PET diaphragm for low frequency

The original Globe was unique in that there was a purposed intent of driver character, while, yes more drivers could get you more (bigger) sound. Often that attempt (with more drivers) brought about along with it a lack of clarity, where the little old Globe did (and does) something special..............and maybe this is an expansion and a step forward into which the Globe has been re-introduced for 2023?

The combination of a "mid-bass thump" and sufficient pinna gain actually sound quite wrong to me (e.g. most Moondrop and Tanchjim IEMs). Music can sound busy and congested, with a lack of depth in the soundstage.
That could be true. On Variations I tried EQ with bass and lower mid thump like Xenns Up, but it just sounded muddy instead. So yeah the scoop is actually better.

Amp the Aurora well and be taken aback by its layered and enveloping bass, creamy musical mids, and inoffensive yet scalpel-like treble.

Had a few days with the Kiwi Ears Melody, brief impressions:

Not for me, for a planar the bass is not at all what I expected, lots of it but not well controlled. Extends into the mids.

Mids are a little recessed, mainly due to the bass, certainly warm, sounds a little off. Vocals aren’t great, they’re pushed back and lack weight.

Treble is also off, running through my test tracks cymbals sound wrong so it cuts out a lot of what you could play on these and enjoy.

Timbre is not natural to my ears. Accessory wise the cable is not great, included tips also aren’t great. All up very disappointing, I’d spend your money elsewhere. I’d take the Kiwi Ears Cadenza any day of the week over this.

Never heard a Xenns product. Only judging by the graph, Xenns Up's tuninng might actually work for me because its pinna gain isn't as high as the Harman/Variations. My personal favorite IEM is the U18s, which has a similar "midbass thump"+reduced pinna gain combination going on. It does seem like though the Xenns Up may have too much midbass thump for the amount of pinna gain it reduces.

Let´s go to enjoy a raining evening. Winter is coming, headphones are going to weared again.

I only need the Q15, and probably the R7 to get my endgame on DAC side.

But maybe a combo of TOPPING 90 series could be another nice addition to the collection

Btw, if you use a PC to play your music, try HQplayer.
