Planar +4BA is new config to me hmm interesting.

I love that global01 store, its name is sooooo fishy and sketchy, but I know that’s the shop who started dealing Lafit ear, the niche of niche odd ball brand that shares some KZ supply chain components. Lafit ear is the only brand that utilizes KZ/CCA’s MST driver in their line ups, and it’s actually quite resolving.

Yeah its different. I ended up ordering bravery AE and the blacksoul cable btw haha. I hope it works for me, finding right size and vented iems is a challenge for me.

Do you know any cheap but good IEM with sonion EST? I am thinking about adding an IEM with good EST implementation. Of course the monarch II is an option, but what else

If you want Monarch style EST EST the vivid one, I’m not too sure.

For matured tuning Variations got quite nice implementation, and this DTE500 has good high-end implementation as well, it extends all the way up to skyline without fatigue causing level of artificial gain buffs.

I’m listening with stock cable, the initial impression is “the imaging center is too front” but after a while you get brain burn-in, enveloping feeling gets very welcoming now.

Yeah its different. I ended up ordering bravery AE and the blacksoul cable btw haha. I hope it works for me, finding right size and vented iems is a challenge for me.

I recommend NiceHCK BlackSoul ($31 maybe $26 now) and TRI Clarion ($4) ear tip as Bravery pairing. It will make Bravery TOTL beater in translucent timbre IEM.

No other IEMs can do better than Bravery in terms of that expertise if you combined those. BlackSoul is second best, but the best cable costs a lot $119 for PW Audio Legend II, so I guess from cost to performance, BlackSoul would do the job.

looks neat! Hope they sound Softears Ceberus + RS10’s upper mid.

Ceberus as been claimed too dark due to relaxed upper mid, and I see Juz fixed that by applying RS10’s upper mid curve on top of Ceberus foundations.

IMHO, planar IEMs if they do need any help, it is for a DD to help their low end bass excursion, which is a weakness in some planar IEMs (note this does not apply to planar headphones but IEMs, probably because of the smaller drivers used in IEMs).

Most planar IEMs already have good treble extension and resolution, and I think the added BAs don't really bring much value add to the table. In fact, if you see the DUNU Talos, which has a hybrid mode with the BA kicking in, it makes the Talos very shrill and harsh, and most users keep to the pure planar switch on the Talos.

Yeah but imagine if it was tuned for the planar to only do bass and the ba's as mid and high. If a planar only had to do bass that could be good in theory.

Oh yeah, the Talos’ BA mode. Still gives me the shivers

It would be fun to see a planar mid and treble, and 4 sonion AcuPass woofers handling the bass. The resulting sound is not necessarily the most natural and rich, but it would be quick and snappy.

Yea, RS10 uses silver stripe, Cerberus with golden stripe, 41T uses broze stripe with RS10 style shell

48ohm with cerberus +RS10 FR is worth a bet for me.

On an unrelated note, I’m thinking about measuring Andromeda with various FiiO cables to see whether the noticebly worse sound introduced by these cables appear on the FR. if the effect is caused by the phase or distortion or something, then I give up, my tool is not that sensitive and reliable.

Still hunting for a good and cheap cable to add bling bling to the Andro without messing up its sound.

Our long time head fi member, tgx has done cable impact as well as burn-in measurements Hope to see your measurements too!

We audiophile are sensitive to those tiny tiny differences.

I do think EST and its peripherals are sensitive to burn-in, so I may fully burn-in DTE500 before making a head-gear review.
