and Libra-X is now sold in KZ official shop, KZTWS.com
annoyingly CastorPro is not there yet.

per PaulWasabi observation and measurement,
tuning is quite alike, tough driver differences shows apparently.

That’s an amazing graph, concerning the Zero!

apparently "cheap" and came with a pair of earbuds.
it have magic bass toggle, and AM/FM toggle on the side
and that analog seek bar is really nice touch.

I thought this would be DAC/AMP with radio function (noise issue might appears tough)
but apparently its a proper simple radio

Which of the many clones did you take (link)?
It's not a clone...it's fake!! I was f...d for real! :)
The seller (she) was from Belgium, allegedly.
I should have known better after being a fan of "In Bruges" that I should avoid anything related to Belgium.

:joy: :joy: :joy:
I got a legit box and everything in it. It's amazing how well everything is done. All the effort deserves some reward hahaha.

Cheers!

The FIIO FP3 is the company's foray into the planar IEM fray. I bought this at a discounted price from Ali (list price $89 USD).

FP3 1.jpg

It is an open secret that most of the current CHIFI planar IEMs use a similar planar driver, probably sourced from the same factories (or are OEMS). In contrast, Fiio markets that the FP3 utilizes an in-house 14.5 mm driver with a dual coated titanium and aluminum ultra-thin diaphragm.

The FP3 contains the TESLA valve bass enhancement tech - seen in the Fiio FD15 - which deliberately elongates sound tubes so as to filter away higher frequencies and boost bass.

Weighing 6.5 g apiece, the housings are light and ergonomics are quite comfortable despite the slightly longer nozzles. The faceplate features a rosewood or black walnut design, depending on your preference during ordering.

It is moderately difficult to drive, and would benefit from a dongle DAC/amp at least. Accessories are quite generous with multiple tips and a transparent plastic carrying case.

The FP3 sports a bright V-shape tonality, graphs below (8 kHz is a coupler peak). Generally, planar graphs may not correspond 1 for 1 to single DDs, as the planar drivers are usually faster in transients and the peaks are more exaggerated on planar graphs compared to actual listening.
Fiio FP3.jpg

The FP3 has a very clean sounding profile, with fast transients and stellar technical chops. Soundstage is wide with excellent layering, detailing and imaging. The bass is quite big but is not at outright basshead levels, with good texturing and speed. Upper mids hit about 11 dB which is just at the border. There is great clarity and resolution in the treble region, with just slight sibilance (I'm treble sensitive and find the FP3 is not overly splashy in the highhats and cymbals, which is much worse in other planars).

There is some planar timbre (probably due to the very fast note transients cutting off tail-end of notes), which is a usual issue with planar IEMs, but it is not the worst offender timbre-wise.

Will do some more tests against benchark planars and report back. For sub $90 USD, this is probably one of the more technical planars as of the time of writing, one for trebleheads and analytical junkies.

Thanks for the quick review, still had this in my cart. Glad I backed off from this one now. Graphs very similar to TD20, except FP3 has 6k peak instead of 4k. Looks pretty good above 10k. I'm sure some mesh tuning can smooth out this one nicely.

For bass lovers, really consider the TRN White Tiger. Outrageous big bass fun with well-separated mids and very nicely done planar treble. It's like a refined Juzear Clear, or a basshead Tri i3 mk3.

Still interested in the TD20 because of my initial GREAT impression of the company... the white tiger also sounds amazing... like a Phoenixcall with real bass? As long as the bass isn't too warm or muddy I'll likely enjoy it.

Ey, the graph of that KZ looks very nice! How surprising.
PRX is a really good IEM.
If anything, it feels a bit "dampened" somehow, but then it helps to keep at bay the "planar sheen". Compared to the previous KZ planar standard, PR1 pro, PRX is a bit more agile and responsive. So overall - PRX is a great and capable IEM for around $50, IMO. (I am still more into AS24 all-BA variants with my subjective preferences for resolution and decoupling).

Objective comparisons of PRX with S12 family and recent Fiio planars would be appreciated.

As for the recent duscussions of woodwind instruments for testing IEMs, I would be quite a bit cautious.

Both for saxophone and clarinet, mouthpiece/reed combination and the performer abilities to modulate the sound can change it so much that it would be hard to establish any reasonable "standard".
String instruments, especially cello, given that the DD-BA transition/disjoint can be most acute at 65-300 Hz is a most definitive probing/test for me. Piano can also work well.

So before I begin rating the Fan 3, I had to decide once and for all whether I prefer the BC on or off... I tried multiple genres, and almost without exception, I prefer it OFF. The BC seems to lightly cloud the mids in a way I dislike. The Fan 3 sounds clearer and truer without it. On the recently recommended song "Vampire in the Corner," I think it did sound slightly better with BC on, but for the most part, OFF is the way to go for me [or "1", according to the switch label] And mind you, I still think they are AMAZING enough to be worth the price, even if I'm not utilizing the BC driver. They will give the H60 and Pula PA02 a very fair fight!

I am finding it a bit hard to find a truly comfortable tip combo, because the nozzle is rather wide. Even small tips can create a very snug fit. At the MOMENT, I have the small Penon Blue tips on it, but those are rather snug so... maybe more tip rolling to come?
