Another one to fan the flames of the Pula PA02 hype (picture doesn't do it justice)...

_DSC4249.jpg
Cayin RU7 > Flash Acoustics 'Flash' SPC cable > Pula PA02 > KBear 07 tips.

Tonality: mild-W, all-rounder
Standouts: build quality & nice case, stage depth, imaging, very good air extension
Not-so-good: bass impact is a bit soft, low mid detail slightly muffled by bleed, male vocals a bit thin, stage width a little tight, 8kHz peak can be sharp in poor recordings, dependent on sensitivity and can probably be mitigated by tips/source (borderline case for me)
Other considerations: cable sensitive (ymmv) - had to roll several before landing on one to improve dynamics
Overall: Great value & build for the price, punches about $250-300 (your opinion may differ)
Such an expensive looking IEM. You get me at “stage depth, imaging, very good air extension”

Maybe this is the case when a new (Chinese?) manufacturer does not know the right price for the sound they have achieved, or they deliberately price so to make a splash.

Still the Cyan at one point was only $1 so? You couldn’t loose, even if you tried.

Agree. It’s always good to get more 2 pin 4.4 mm cables to replace the IEMs coming with a stock 3.5mm.

Better this than Penon, who knows their sets could be cheaper (their newsletter prices are much fairer to market prices) but upcharges them because people will buy at the MSRP they set

Pula PA02 arrived today, I plugged to Ibasso DX320X AMP14 using HanSound Nyx 4.4 cable and Azla vivid tips.
TBH it’s the best set I heard under 300$ for sure.

IMG_0833.jpeg
Wow! Stunning looking pair.
Under 300$ is quite a huge compliment considering orivetti's, Aful P8 (just a shade over 300), Quintet, Penons prowl.
I think @ToneDeafMonk described it as Fan2 with tighter bass and better Treble.(if I remembered that right), also compared it pretty favorably with the much higher priced orivetti's vb700. Banger indeed TDM!

@ToneDeafMonk how did you land on these? Some chifi- forum or blind buy?

sEems worth all the hype. At that price, they aren't doing good by just tying themselves with Ali-Ex, which don't sell to countries like India etc. hope they also appear elsewhere.

I saw the faceplates and just got the blind buy button. I previously bought the PA01 and was impressed went from there.

Dug a little deeper about the company and the guys behind the PULA brand.
Turns out Tan Donghua and his team are well known in the Asian community for the last 15 years. They have been on AliExpress for more years but seems no real standout hits like the new offerings.

Also sounds like a doubling down on QC and expanding thier production capacity.

The shells are 3D printed but the top shells are hard to make with that cellular foil and every one is unique.

They are also working on a higher end unit as well for later in the year. Exciting times ahead 😎

Twin Pulse beryllium is beautiful. Astonishingly good. Killing the Rock/Metal genres and sub-genres. Obviously will try the other music soon. I really wondering why there is not much talking. Great job Spirit Torino. TOTL sound.
Tender Surrender from Steve Vai felt heavenly.

That price tag answers your question pretty succinctly. It's TOTL pricing, even if it's on the lower end of TOTL, it's still TOTL pricing, and not ever joe schmoe can afford that?

Same shell as the NX7, and the biggest gripe about the N7 series is the intimate soundstage. Pay a little bit more, and get the EW200, with it's excellent width and height for budget.

I will buy it without asking any questions, the guy can tune and make an iem no doubt, Pula punches above $500 to these ears and while I would still take dte900 it certainly isn’t like the old days when differences were so obvious, now i keep changing so many times and it just isn’t that obvious why things are priced as they are😅

Anyone here curious about the Hype4 and Hype10 at all? These IEMs are at an odd spot. Too pricy to be interesting to this thread, and too cheap and “normie” for the other thread. Still debating myself whether I should just blind buy a Hype10 or be patient and wait for AFUL Cantor.
Did you get a chance to try the Hype10? I think you can blind buy it 😬. True, they are in an odd spot but the bass on it is oddly satisfying which you don’t get in any of the Monarchs. If you can manage a very small deal on the Hype10, I think it is worth buying and something which can be cherished for long. I most certainly think the price is quite apt for the quality of sound it has.

All these talks about Pula are making me more and more excited and I can’t buy it in India as AliExpress doesn’t work here. Is there any other store where it is available?

Sadly the Kiwi ears Forteza gets a 3 star review.
DSC_1107.jpegs.jpeg

Comparisons:
DSC_1265.jpegw.jpeg

"The Kiwi ears Melody:

A Melody stout and fully definable clarity into which bass speed and separation are found. Yep, this is where the money is with the Melody. A smorgasbord of fun happening bellow the belt! Sorry. But this bass action is real, more clear, more separated and even the guitar timbre is better and finding the guitar examples to be more realistic despite the subtle Planar timbre. This Melody is simply more dramatic and technically better as well as holding a better tonality of all musical constituents! Sign me up for this, all day long.........simply better.......I know I'm repeating myself. :)

Where no better example is found to hold this Forteza (while still analogue) bass, the display is of a slower and less defined bass. Where the Melody kicks.......and is simply a better overall tune, I'm sorry to say. Treble is slightly less focused than the Forteza, but that was the needed down-tune with the Forteza.........a gift we were asking for, but didn't get for Christmas.

The 7Hz Salnotes Zero 2:

I can make this comparison really simple here. Haha, the 7Hz Salnotes Zero 2 is simply more even, complete and correct. It has less treble. What this does in the end is promotes longer listening times with the treble perception coming off simply more real and natural. While bass action has been improved over the original Zero, there is still room for dynamite vocals to take place with the Zero 2, heck I don't need to go on, read my Zero 2 review if you want more gushing. "

Wow that's one helluva blind buy! Can you tell mr Tan Donghua or the ali ex store chap to deliver to India on the side, on his own please?

And every time I hear about Mr Donghua I turn all awww like this: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/the-discovery-thread.586909/post-17896474
