The discovery thread!

Most people don’t want to be marketed to without their knowledge. Every time someone brings this topic up, the same users come out of the wood work about “haters” and like, bro we are the opposite lol get out of here.

We are the people spending actual money on this stuff, I come to these forums to read impressions, it’s truly not that hard to disclose if yours has to be taken with a grain of salt because you got the product for free. It’s not. It’s one sentence. “Thank you to X for providing this.”

End of discussion.
End of discussion like your opinion is the only one that matters LOL

I believe all reviews and impressions should be taken with a grain of salt. In the end it is your own responsibility to be discerning regarding who you decide to align your hopes with. Listen to who you like and leave the others to their own opinions. Ultimately listening more and talking less leads to best results in my experience. I hope you can find the help you are looking for.

This thread once in a few days :dt880smile:

I admire the enthusiasm of many of you with these new releases though. Personally, my opinion reflects some friends a dozen or so pages back: "anything that can pop up on the radar of this community is a good product." It's kinda squandering to buy the similar (good) IEM again and again and again and again (and again). I'm very grateful that some companies still send some stuffs over or offer a decent discount (and have not been offended by my lukewarm 3/5, 3.5/5, yet :dt880smile:) so that I can keep blah blah about IEMs as a hobby

I might have the Ziigaat Cinco and NiceHck F1 Pro in for review.

The text of the Magic One is all done. The review should be published this weekend. It's a free sample from Hifigo, just to be clear.

Not giving a "poop" about one's self-generated poop and continously fume-pooping about it...
That summarizes the demise and the loss of any practical utility of this thread very well with the vast majority of participants being reviewers or aspiring reviewers or amateur users of free samples...

So you can just pat each other backs and watch each other videos cheerfully for the clicks and illusion of being any useful.

I stopped supporting your activities in any form.

Just spent the last 45 minutes graphing the CCA Rhapsody, for the sake of audiophiledom! Have a migraine now LOL.

CCA Rhapsody.jpg

So this pokemon of the week is a 4 BA + 2 DD setup. Has (surprise surprise) 4 tuning switches to grant 16 tuning options.

So the tuning switches (unlike some previous iterations) do work in changing the sound, mostly at the lower mids to bass.

Will do some testing and report back.

Okay I'm going to predict the end of switches for IEMs!

Soon we will have IEMs with an all new analogue tuning control. There will be a knob marked tone with an infinitely variable number of settings from "treble" to "bass". The direction to rotate for these effects will vary from manufacturer to manufacturer, and possible from side to side.

To cater to people familiar with touch controls on TWS. These will have to rotate freely, so you can randomize the tuning in each earpiece and create novel channel imbalance every time you put them in!

Someone should create a fully modular iem. Instead of tuning filters, you screw on a piezo or est and it's power coupled to the threaded part. Same for the lows, screw in a single large dd or two smaller ones on the side.

Does anyone own or use this case? https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256803346207210.html

I'm really in need of something that can hold/protect a dap, dac, and iems. plus the small usb c cable.

This one is 3.5" wide x 4.7" tall x 8.7" long (converted from mm)... the height is chonkier than I'd like.

Edit: The dimensions might be misleading because they have two different cases on the listing. One option can fit two iems, so I have to imagine that's 8.7" long. And hopefully the other one is shorter and less chonk.

I have this one "For QULOOS QA361":

Splitting the signal through a crossover to interchangeable divers with different impedance, efficiency and FR could be interesting. Would you need a programmable DSP too?

Video comparing Simgot EA1000 and Hidizs MP145.

Surprising conclusion, IMO.

Uhm... is that like 4.3 inches tall? I'm a product of the US public educational system.
