Reminder to clean & polish your non plated plugs.

Right now enjoying DTE900 (11 switches) with Wagnus Zillion Sheep & CW eartips. With over 100hrs of burn in. My impressions so far:
- Deep reverberating bass.
- Thick and lushful mids.
- Vivid and extensive treble.
- 3D sound image all rounder, giving a sense of depth and close-up ultra-high resolution sound.
- A realistic reproduction of sound that feels like you're concert.
- One of the best releases of the year so far.

Need more time with it but I am enjoying Sound Rhymes newest release.
Awesome 😎

Did come to as surprise for me, agree one of the best releases of this year.

My pick would be Hiby R3II + Effect Audio Gaea. In fact, it was my daily driving setup for two weeks before having to send everything away. The R3 II does not sound as good as my DX300 but not too far, and way smaller. The Gaea is a divisive choice for sure. I guess I enjoy a more edgy and energetic presentation nowadays, after IEMs after IEMs with neutral-with-bass-boost signature.

Have you try the pentaconn coreir eartips? I think you'll like them

What mod did you do?

Have this delivered one if the days now 😁

swap the original filter with double stack of Mesh500 with a tiny hole in the center.
stack the filter and pinch a hole first before attach them to the nozzle, never pinch a hole after attached, the residue won't stand your force.
see my post about castor 2 pages back i think.
tiny hole is very important for bass airflow to get rid of the smear.

I really like the mod with 1111 switch, its crazy for $13. Not a giant killer but certainly not "just another beater set".

Sounded like shilling KZ but I'm not, I even refused their offer to review their products before. They can force me if they are willing to give me Subtonic Storm :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Is it uncommon to not use EQ? I have found that I end up tinkering with things too much looking for imperfections, so I just run out of the box, no EQ.
Depends… some users of IEMs and headphones swear by it. The popularity of the Qudelix 5K is in large part due to the very flexible parametric EQ it offers. Users of TWS devices probably more than others rely on EQ, probably due to the apps that many of these devices have and how sound personalization (EQ, though sometimes with a friendlier interface) is a fundamental part of the apps and thus relatively easy to try out.

And others swear **at** EQ, demonstrating everything from light disdain all the way to thinking that EQ is an abomination, corrupting the sound from how the artist intended it to be (never mind that the artist’s works sound different out of every transducer), or claiming the resulting sound has noticeable artifacts.

For me, I fall into what I believe is the very large middle group… when it is easy to use EQ - for example with TWS - I frequently use it. When I have to go to any trouble (klunky interface or any hoop at all to jump through), then I am lazy and don’t bother.

What amuses me personally is that some who believe that EQ should never be used are readily purchasing exotic cables and tips in the hope of customizing through trial and error the sound without trying the much cheaper and flexible EQ… if nothing else to at least see if their IEM or headphone can be made to sound like they want it before they start out on an expensive cable and tip rolling journey…. But, I am sure my position on this amuses others as well, so mine really is only a single opinion.

Since this is The Discovery thread I took the liberty of posting this tremendous piece by one of my country's greatest vocalists accompanied by a young simphonic orchestra.

You won't understand a word, but music is an international language.
And please, by all means, post your local masterpiece 😀

Sounds gorgeous on VE Zen LL & VE Prime DAC+RA2B-FE.
