With that setup I will be surprised if its priced under 800$
Knowing Tangzu is good at making IEMs with good performance/price, I believe it's pretty much possible to go under even under 600. I have Tansio Mirai Land which uses the same setup 1DD+3BA +2EST and 3 working switch system for 599$.

The EX1000 was one of the lauded TOTL sets of yesteryears, but the 5 - 6 kHz massive icepick spike is quite unusable without EQ on some tracks that showcase this frequency band.

I think if measurebators saw this graph in 2023, they won't even buy it hahaha.

lol I am sure you are right! History might remember the EX1000 a little differently if it were released more recently. When it was new, I could not imagine how anything could sound better, but I also avoided stuff where that spike was painful, so my perspective was slightly skewed. I also liked the JVC FX700 a lot at the time, and even though you could trust it to sound good with basically everything, it could never reach the magical heights the EX1000 could under the right conditions. I'm glad companies have gotten better about tuning without sibilance and harshness, it seemed like more of a problem back in the day.

This post gave me the motivation to decipher the Mojo 2's convoluted DSP interface, and cut low treble on EX1000 by 3db. It's a nice compromise.

So I had a review sample of the Hearfield Deer. One of the many I have rejected through the years. I can tell the group is well meaning but they have a ways to go before their tunings can contend with the competition.

The IEM game has become so competitive that if your not bringing the absolute best you can out of these IEMs, they will get passed on and no one will bother asking why.
I hope nothing but the best for these guys but expert tuners they are not.
What was wild was your sample was bass heavy and my retune was almost bass shy? $169 (the Deer cost) was a lot of money and these IEMs need to have something to offer. People may remember the Heartfield Deer as it was all crystals in the faceplate, 198 crystals and chrome. Let’s hope this new IEM is dialed-in!

TOTL or flagship imply 500-800 dollars, but it's a funny price point given the rest of their lineup at the time. $25, $100, $150, $200.... $800. If that is the case I'll be interested to see if they offer something in the gap that leaves.

ya I think they tried to do a retune before official launch of them. The sample I got was murky with a dark tonality a lack of any real definition due to just how much bass it had. Bass shadow was unreal on them. If it was the good type of bass then it would have been ok even at that price but they reminded me of an IEM review I did a long time ago called the Opera factory OM1

These things are single handedly the most bassiest IEMs I have heard from a budget set. The bass shadow on these are unbelievable. No mids a bit of treble but a bass end that dominates the entire sound. Never heard anything like them since.

The cheapest regarded EST tribrids come in around $450-500, so I'd expect it to be about there. I don't know if they'd be trying to break the market with a $400 tribrid, honestly
The TRN BAX is $312.88, one of the lowest cost providers of the tribrid manufacturing style. Still I think this TANGZU will be $450? Just a wild guess?

Only because TANGZU has kinda made a name for itself offering incredible sound per dollar, so why would they stop now?

I know i use this word a lot but I love disruptors in the market creating forceful innovation and eventually customers are happy.

Maybe tangzu would offer a cheap tribrid with est and we would finally see est drivers included in cheaper price ranges...

Just to clarify things here, TANGZU Princess starts at $15 and you get the designer ear-tip set (if you want) for $16. One dollar more.

So? The thing is TANGZU doesn’t make a bad tune! I have never heard one that I would not want to own? So this is probably great!

The name too “Gate” like gateway into a new value!

If ISN could make EST50 (1DD 2BA 2EST) over two years ago at 450usd, I would suspect Tangzu to be even lower.
If we look at how cheap multi hybrids can be, price should be lower. Unless they try to aim for something better in quality.
No idea about EST pricing, but I assume the price there has dropped also.
