Yes Piezo driver. What's also interesting is that they claim to have custom DDs and BAs in this set.
Custom BA = Bellsing. Custom DD can mean just about anybody, since there's hundreds of DD makers.

But why does this look like this? I mean it's looking very bad to me :frowning2:
Its special looking, not sure what I really think about the design. The backside look very open, only tried the BC 2023 that has almost completely open backside, the soundstage feels much more open in BC due to this similar to earbuds.

Raptgo hook was beautiful and unique. I agree it’s ugly as sin. Just kinda odd.
Yeah the Hook-X was beautiful and great sounding as well!!

This channel mainly reviews IEMs and headphones from a gaming perspective, but it got me even more hyped about the Kiwi Ears Quartet release.

He even put a purple cable on them like I'm going to. :dt880smile:

He said they are a "giant killer," and is superior to IEMs he's reviewed that costs $450-$600.

Why hasn't Linsoul not allowed people to buy this yet? Kiwi Ears said it might release around May 3. Been 4 days already...

Thanks for linking the review. The hype is real for this one. Kiwi ears has some good stuff. I’m looking forward to get it myself.

Alright, let's talk about this earphone design that just flat-out stinks. They're trying to pull off a retro vibe, like those old-school Audeze planar earphones. Remember them? Massive and heavy as hell. Well, they missed the mark here – it's ugly.

The cable reminds me of the one on my $20 Salnotes Zero beater. Not exactly high praise since that part always sucked too. I'll give 'em credit for the duplicate vent on the surface; but overall, this look is a swing and a miss.

Now onto these PZT driver units – not buying it either! Planar was all the rage last year, sure, but I don't see PZT making waves in the future. So yeah, this whole thing sucks ass from top to bottom.

Seems everyone else is focused on the housing design... And I'm just here wondering why the product description says 2DD+2BA+PZT but the presentation says 3BA (one of which is the 10mm driver apparently), 6mm AMT, and a 10mm PZT.

Regardless of the actual configuration, with such a relatively large PZT, I wonder if it's used as a bone conductor.
There's MDR-EX2000 called justear if you don't know
If you hear limp bass from HE400se, that when you realize you might need a better source! The bass should be punchy and detail instead of low-res rumble
I think it has more to do with what I'm personally used to. I'm used to at least 0.5dB/octave down tilt alongside a Harman-like bass boost and, I assume anyway, the HE400se doesn't have this down tilt, but it's tuned dead flat instead, resulting in something that can come across as a bit cold from what I'm personally used to.

As far as EXTENSION is concerned, however. It's actually pretty awesome. I can feel it all the way down to about 15Hz from memory. Not only that, but it's doing so in a very audibly transparent way that I never heard in any headphone, which I think it's probably something no moving coil headphone is capable of in this budget range... at least not without making the driver beg for mercy. I just wish the bass was more Harman-like if that makes any sense. But I'm not taking my chances until I can buy something that can take a 6dB bass boost which probably means -6dB pre-amp, which would quadruple the required power. Power, that in my situation is at a premium. But that's a matter for another day.

So... I'm just thankful that for the asking price of $109 it turned out as amazing as it did. Never heard anything so... Undistorted before. Other options would probably leave me with more compromises. Compromises that no source has any chance to fix to begin with.

Not entirely sure how much of this I owe it to being a planar magnetic headphone. And I wonder if that sheer audible transparency that this is capable of given its asking price is what made my nephew comment that putting on the HE400se to test them in games was the auditory equivalent of putting on glasses. So neither I nor my nephew were prepared for the sheer transparency that this is capable of.

If I haven't made it immediately obvious. Despite not having a proper amplifier and the HE400se being infamous for its thirst for power, there's no buyers' remorse to be found here.

I think this is as far as I can go impressions wise.

As for justear, I have no clue what that is... Unless is this thing? https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256805128343071.html

How many people blanching at the aesthetics of the new RAPTGO Bridge, have paused to consider this? "Eww I'm not buying that" compared to "Pretty, I must buy a pair". This is a considerate manufacturer putting the brakes on your purchasing, until after we find out how it sounds!

Hooke-X was a success but is anyone still excited about the leaf?

I received my PR2. See here
It makes me want to find out more.
Any advice for a full planar iem, with details and quite balanced ?

EDIT : I should have specified that I wouldn't spend more than 200€ ;-)
