Excited for this! Kefine is the only IEM manufacturer that is batting 1.000 with at least two models for me. I loved the Klean and Delci. Still own the Klean and use it for music and as my stage IEM!
KEFINE has a new hybrid on it's way, and for all you KEFINE fans who have been clamoring for the company to release a hybrid, your wish has been granted!!
Should be a very interesting IEM, that's following in the footsteps of the very popular hit, the KEFINE Klean.
KEFINE QUATIO!!
AFUL was 2-for-2 with the Explorer and MagicOne, but I didn't like the P5+2. KiwiEars off to a great start with me with the Aether; same with Softears and the Volume S and Penon and the Fan 3.

Yes, AirPods Pro 2 need charging. But their battery life is excellent. And I would be the biggest hypocrite on Earth to worry about the effect of BT on the brain considering my affinity for the devil's lettuce ...TWS are very close. But, uhmm ... do those need charging? That and the poorly understood BT's effect on brain.

Maybe these stores are being kind and saving American consumers from themselves. You're either rich or obsessed if you're paying these tariff-inflated prices. No, thanks.I have become obsessed with understanding why certain items can’t be bought on Aliexpress. So much so, that I contacted them and asked why. They said it’s on the seller. So, I’ve been trying to buy the ivipQ 174 Firefox and they don’t allow that one to be shown, in the US. Ivipq is saying they don’t understand why it can’t and really have been working with me trying to figure it out, without an answer, so far.
Now, I did find this interesting as ivipQ has two different stores on Aliexpress…
https://www.aliexpress.com/store/11...Items_or_groupList.pcShopHead_2004666515860.0
And
https://www.aliexpress.com/store/11...Items_or_groupList.pcShopHead_6001931119057.0
I’ve asked about the difference without an answer yet, so who knows…. I really want a certain few cables from ivipQ; however, they can’t be added to the cart. According to ivipQ, they have them and can sell them. I’m very hesitant to buy without putting the correct item in the cart. They suggested me use a different item and they would send me the correct one. I really don’t like that idea…
On another note, I got the Letshouer DX1 as a tour unit today. Very early impressions are solid, not spectacular. A very competent IEM that doesn't have much special sauce. Neutral, but there is a weird sensation with the mids that Mark Ryan pinpointed in his review that I'm also hearing. The vocals are clear and not too shouty, but they feel disconnected from the rest of the mix, as if the vocalist was alone in a booth while the rest of the band played live in the same room in studio.
Very nice imaging and surprising soundstage, though. Definitely more sub-bass focused, as this set doesn't have much punch. More listening to come, but I'm not blown away. Again, I think I would have been more impressed before I started swimming in the $300-400 waters. These sound like a more refined Klean or a less-refined BrainDance, without any holographic effects that some describe with that IEM. Not bad, not bad at all.
What tips is everyone using with the DX1? I'm still running stock narrowish bore. Good fit, but I wonder if some third-party tips will tweak the sound.

Really getting a lot of use unexpectedly with this set-up. Here the Totem Ultra adapter cable is right after the Sony WM1A DAP to the GranVia cable to the Kiwi ears Atheia full-size. The adapter just adds that slight realism. And the crazy part is these headphones are totally colored. There is a heavy mid-bass hump that is the biggest of warm ideas that make this headphone the farthest from even or correct in playback. The issues of midrange show a 2kHz to 3kHz peak, then a fall-off into a style of smooth treble. They say you have to know the rules first to break them correctly, and I think that is what is going on here. More musicality than reference and there is a lack of balance too. It is such a vacation from the norm, and I'm happy to report the GranVia adds warmth from the included cable, but the Totem adapter adds clarity. Truly I love this signature, but at times I relish in how it is so very messed-up, but in a good way! Sure I could get pace from using a desk-top, but somehow I'm on a vacation here, and I like the mobile aspects of it being handheld. Plus there is very little worry about the DAP not being enough for full dampening, due to the stage and bass available being epic for a closed-back! Vocals are even really well done here?

Could this be driven with any sort of DAP?Really getting a lot of use unexpectedly with this set-up. Well the Sony's are not that powerful. But during the review process I gravitated toward the WM1A over the TOTL desktop rig on hand. But my answer is yes, Plus I just checked and I'm at 90 clicks out of a possible 120 clicks on the 1A. I mean one time I flipped back to the TA desktop, and sure the extra dampening did make the bass cleaner................but who knows why I'm breaking the rules so much. This is like skipping school it is so fun. But remember this is a heavily colored headphone. So extra mid-bass hump........to the moon. At times even with the 1A it rattles my ears, especially listening to the Ambient Bass sub-genre. Then the trashy 2kHz to 3kHz mid-peak it all that is left..............some folks EQ to get out of this section of town, but I don't, I guess I just like the wrongness here, it is so wrong it is right!Could this be driven with any sort of DAP?
Headphones: AKG k701, Denon AH-D 7000, Sony MDR-Z1R, Sony MDR-Z7, THIEAUDIO Ghost, Kiwi ears Ardor, Kiwi ears Ellipse, Kiwi ears Aventus, Kiwi ears Atheia
This are my headphones, and the Atheia is close to my favorite? Maybe just because it is new.........I don't know?

I would belive not, the Fission use the same DMT5 driver and is tuned close to the same. But this time will be even cheaper than on Origin! Is there a reason to buy Fission if i have Origin already?

I will compare it with Letshuoer DX1 tomorrow as I think that will be a very good comparison as they both are great single DDs at this price point and is tuned a little different.

Well i love to play with eq too... i am not much into the Headphones territory right now, but i can say that playing with the tonality of a set can be fun for some time.. but honestly, it gets too much after a while.. and i find myself going back to the original tuning of every set i use and just clear out EQsWell the Sony's are not that powerful. Yes EQ can be a long talked about subject on these forums. But I have avoided it, even the Sony TOTL TA desktop offers zero EQ capability, so they didn't like EQ with that release?Well i love to play with eq too... i am not much into the Headphones territory right now, but i can say that playing with the tonality of a set can be fun for some time.. but honestly, it gets too much after a while.. and i find myself going back to the original tuning of every set i use and just clear out EQs

This is the kind of honest answer I always look for and you are good for that. Thanks, Leonarfd!I would belive not, the Fission use the same DMT5 driver and is tuned close to the same. But this time will be even cheaper than on Origin!

Quite glowing review from me, it is on the leaner side with very clean open midrange and well extended treble (not often true on many single DDs)
I belive the official release was today or one day ago

After 10 years of using only IEMs, I gave flathead earbuds another shot.
