UPS man just dropped my HD650's off at the door...listening to In Rainbows by Radiohead right now, initial impressions are "holy ****". Like wrapping my favorite blanket around myself. So happy right now.

Still no gift card yet, though.

Yup I described it as getting a really good hug from your favourite music! My wife laughed out loud until she tried it. Wiped the smile right off her face :)

Amazon will NOT refund the difference.  If they do they are making an exception.  Their policy reflects the fact that their prices are always changing and because of that, they are unable to refund the difference when it does.  I don't remember where I saw this, but this was asked once before, and an e-mail response was provided by Amazon clarifying their policy on that.

Just an FYI.  If you still are uncertain, you can e-mail them first and make sure.

Yep. Seen that too.

However, I have been able to get them to refund the price difference on an item I ordered if the price changed *before* I received it while still in transit.

V-moda M100's ...you pre-order now, you get
-Free Faders (ear plugs, $20)
-Free Custom shields ($25)
-Free shipping in the Continental US
I think i'll get these instead of the he-400's

These are quite different headphones !  In fact, it makes sense to have both - one open-back home headphones, and one closed-back portable headphones.

For those of you who jumped on the Matrix M-Stage Massdrop deal, you should've received an email by now saying:

So... they will maybe, possibly ship in two weeks. Looks like we're looking at almost three weeks before receiving them.

...don't remind me...it appears my 10 day estimate was a bit off...man....and as i understand it, thats 2 weeks to make them. That doesn't include shipment to the states, and the turn around in maryland... 3 weeks, yeah i suppose, however much i hate to, have to agree ahhhhhh

I probably read that somewhere, and I indeed agree with your metaphor!

Sennheiser just sent me the iTunes code! I'll probably sell it to someone I know who uses iTunes...

Got mine as well.... Anyone want to buy a $50 iTunes code for $40 bucks? For all you math whiz's out there, that's $10 bucks worth of free music!

Yeah, that was the plan, as i am getting both eventually. It's more the fact that the small deal on the m100's seem pretty good, while the he-400 hasn't had a deal other than for demo and used versions.

FiiO E5 and up. They're easy to amplify.

That's the complete opposite of what was stated above.

That statement, repeated often, is completely wrong. There's nothing about the HD-650 -- impedance, voltage, or power requirements -- to make them hard to drive. The FiiO E5 may not  be ideal, except as a tiny portable, but it works just fine. I have both and have used them together.

When asking for recommendations, you can go with the borg or not. It's your decision.

This would be fantastic, but judging from the seller's feedback, they mostly deal with books and books on CD/tape. It is still a great deal, but I, myself cannot pull the trigger on that.

Just some info from when I emailed the seller:

"Stock cable.  I have had them about ten years.  Pristine condition.  No box.  Just the headphones."

It's the same driver as the HD600, isn't it? If anything goes wrong, you can just install them in there. How much does a repair like that cost from Senn?

Well let's be fair and say, how would I know who is right or wrong? Most peoples opinions seem to indicate there is nigh endless scale to what amp you can match and get improvements from with the HD650's. I have bought an O2+ODAC Combo and a Bottlehead crack amp (which as I understand it is a very powerful amp) and I intend to compare side by side as much as anyone can.
