I got the m50's from B&H for $109 final price before christmas, crazy how prices fluctuate. If anyone finds a deal on denon d7000's please let me know. I tried on electronics expo but I dont understand that website. I don't know if they just don't have them in stock but half of their headphones on the site doesn't let you add it to the cart, just says call for availablity and what not. I'm trying to decide between ultrasone pro 900's or the d7000, can't find a good deal on neither. I got more than I anticipated for my tax return so i thought a new pair of headphones would be a good idea.
Tax return FTW! Let me know if you find a deal on the Denons as well, would love some D7000.

Lol. Just heard the expo has deals on the denon's i won't spend more then $600 on the d7000's. There supposed to be like the M50's on steroids, better low end and mids and highs real different. I dunno bro there expensive and everyone is blowing up the Pro 900's, they can be got for around $320 and still have that portable function. Let them m50's burn in good I liked them alot better over time.
LOL BTW...we know you would love some D...
Sorry, off topic, imho, the D7000 does not sound at all like the M50's (even on steroids). I have both and would give up the M50's in a heartbeat, but one would have to pull the D7000's out of my cold dead hands...
With the D7000, I find the balance of sound near perfect. Low end/bass is refined but punchy as one would expect from live speakers. The mids are there and not colored by the low end. The highs are just right, one hears the cymbals and high notes just as one would expect.
The M50's give you the sound expected in a $150 or so price range. The low end seems to color the mids somewhat, the overall sound far from the refinement of the D7000's.
Isolation is great on the M50's and they have a great fun factor. But one can not compare the one to the other. That would be like comparing a great running econo car to an expensive luxury car.
Just my .02$
If one can get the D7000's for $600- $650 then go for it, that is an excellent price for those cans.
Ok. Just saying what I have heard from others that own the D7000's I would have no idea how they sound compared to the M50's. One owner said almost word for word that "the d7000 was like the older brother of the M50"...just sayin' . I just wanted to an upgrade from the M50's, and are torn between the Pro 900 or the d7000. Your probably the perfect person to ask since i see you own(d) both. What do you think?
I have the D7000 as well as my roomie having my old pair of M50s. There is DEFINITELY a similarity there, and it's a big one. If one were to go from the M50 to the D7000, I would personally believe that they'd think of the D7000 as what the M50 dreamed it could be.
That's how I see them. My roommate (a huge M50 fanboy), as well as other friends have heard both and come to the same conclusion, with pretty much all of them saying that the D7000 sounds like the M50 but better. Of course, I'm referring to the bass emphasized M50, and not the new....seemingly less exciting variant.
