Oh... They had a blemmie Mg available previously, if I'm not mistaken. Damn. I guess an indication that they are going quickly.

I'm with you on the fixed cable issue. Definitely a point of concern in the design. I also have some real issues with fitting earphones of that shape.

Even though I don't own any Periodic Audio products, but strictly speaking as an observer of these forums and from reading the Periodic Audio thread I like the fact that their co-founder @DanWiggins is active on Head-Fi and answering questions and concerns from people. He has said that they're working on their own version of a detachable cable that's not MMCX or 2 pin, and that he'll open source it for anyone else that wants to use it.

While I also understand the argument and concerns of preferring a detachable cable, in the case of Periodic Audio I wouldn't be all that concerned considering they have a 5-year warranty, and that also includes their blemished and open box items. By all accounts they have excellent customer service and go above and beyond to ensure that the customer is satisfied. I admire that about Dan and Periodic.

EDIT:
Dan has also said that once they do get their own version of a detachable cable in place, that customers who have the non-detachable Periodic IEM's can send them in to have them retrofitted with the new detachable connection.

For anyone that wants to try and "haggle" a deal online for a set of Focal Clear or Focal Clear Pro, give Greentoe a try. I have yet to use it myself, but will most certainly do so within the next year when I buy a new TV. A lot of people on an AVS forum that I frequent have had good luck getting great TV deals on Greentoe. Not sure how good they are with headphones, but it might be worth a shot since they're offering the service for select models.

FYI, if you do try and haggle with them, be prepared to buy whatever headphone you choose immediately after they accept your price offer. If they don't accept your first offer then you're not obligated to buy it.

Another FYI, Adorama is one of the stores that Greentoe uses. Adorama was selling the Focal Clear Pro for $949 back in March of this year. Even though right now they're selling it for $1499, go ahead and offer $949 since they sold it for that price at one time. You just might get lucky? It's worth a try anyway.
