Yea, I can be sensitive to the clamping. I tried on my roommates Beats Pro, and the clamping pressure on those things made me feel like I was in a headlock.

Anyway, I've been using my 880s with my Nuforce uDAC2 though USB on my computer all morning.  These things make me want to listen to my entire music collection again!  Loving these, if I hadn't already mentioned it.

  The most offensive peak is actually the one between 5-6kHz. After that it's mostly smaller peaks and generally elevated response. The 5-6kHz peak is responsible for a bit of glare and adds some crack to snare drums, as well as catching the lower end of sibilance and cymbals. You need to look at the raw data to see it, since the smoothing algorithm and HRTF correction in the compensated results make it difficult to pick out.
 
I know everybody hates graphs, but this one is pretty spot on when it comes to the DT880:
 

 
The HD650, which it competed against back in the day, lacks any sort of peak in this region and has generally lower treble response, which has been borne out in many, many impressions.

Thanks guys, the clamping on dt880 pro doesn't bother me as much now, I tried to relieve it a bit by stretching.
 
Now on to DAP issue.. I am thinking of upgrading from my 4th gen ipod to either ibasso dx50 or fiio x3 - do you guys here use either of these two with your DT880s? I usually go to my westone 4r when i am on the run but sometimes i do want to use dt880s around the house with a DAP.

Depending on how loud you like to listen to music, you might find the lack of sensitivity of the 880s make them harder to drive. Make sure the amp you select can provide plenty of current, or at least that was my experience with the 880s.

What do YOU tink... I looked like an AudioPhile Ninja ofc they looked at my funny but that was in Middle school so xD ppl already thought I was a freak so nothing to drastic on the days I didn't have the belt n cans

The 250 and 600 Ohm versions need an amp that outputs a lot of voltage.
Example, like a Matrix M Stage or a FiiO E12 or a good OTL tube amp.

The Schiit Modi should be a nice match actually! I'm excited to ride this new Schiit HYPE train! Maybe one day in the next few months I'll pick one up just to say I heard it
