oh yes... my favorite open back headphone

edit... just had a look at your list... so, you have the closed back version. Are they the same size?
They are a little smaller, same driver size. I really like them. Stock signature with bassy music is almost too much bass, but here is the caveat, once you EQ 90hz down man does the sound really come together. Same great feel and build quality and I love the styling. I am sadly selling them as I'm about to go into a two year Master of Social Work program so I need money for books and I am just keeping my Pioneer SE Monitor 5, but frankly, I'll have very little time for music. PM me if you are interested in the H900M, mine is mint, absolutely pristine, low hours. I wasn't going to sell through head-fi as I find selling here in Canada much easier, but I've sold and shipped to the US plenty. NY is close to Ontario. Just in case you're interested. Cheers.

I don't need another closed back. I was just curious about the size because they looked similar. Anyway, I am in the UK now not the US although I am American. Left the States in 2006 to marry a fellow headfier... although neither of us was on headfi at the time:)

Actually I have stopped buying headphones. Purchases of iems and buds have been a bit out of control lately:) At the moment it is too hot here for headphones. Miss the hi fi system I had in Michigan.

Look around for a used Yulong A18 class A amp. I loved my DT880 600ohm and that was the amp that I found had the best synergy with it. I also used an SPL Auditor with the DT880 and thought that was a stunning amplifier as well. @mbwilson111 Shout out to the Onkyo A800, lovely open back headphone for sure.
Sadly I can't find any of these options used in Norway, and only the SPL Auditor is available new at $820, which is so far out of my budget.

A used chord hugo for 6-700 will blow away any of the above suggestions. When i played my dt880 600 through hugo i was mesmerised. So powerful with full control and articulation.
While I don't doubt that, the only used one I could find was a used Chord Hugo 2 at $1700, which is just insane. I guess I just have to go for the budget solution right now while the money is tight, and then do something more fun when I'm done being a student.

Just enjoy what you have. I still loved my music when I was a student... even though I had no money.

Nice, I hope to be in the UK for travel next year. I hear you about the heat, I don't wear headphones much in the summer either. It has been a hot and very dry summer here, record breaking and I know it is the same in the UK and many places. I wonder how long climate change deniers will be able to hold out ....

LOL, yes they are stubborn for sure. How has the transition to life across the pond been? I spent two weeks in the south of France last year and I would love to live in Europe for a few years at least. The UK may be different, but certainly in France and some other EU countries they have a much better work life balance than we North Americans have. I think it is 5 weeks of vacation in France!

I'll have to agree with this statement, especially the 600 Ohm variant. Three headphones from Beyer I think I can live with exclusively stock/ummodded with no other headphones would have to be the Amiron Home(proved itself with over a year of use), DT 880 - 600, and to my surprise the DT 990 - 600.

Ok, I’ve looked...is the 880 PRO 600 Ohm still available for sale anywhere?
The notion that the 600 versus 250 ohm version sound different doesn't make much sense and I remember reading a few comparisons from people who owned both versions and didn't feel they sounded different. I can't confirm that myself as I only ever owned the 600ohm version, but I really am not sure why the impedance would make any audible difference, if that is what you are concerned about. Maybe others have a different perspective to share.

It's not that higher impedance is better, but in the case of Beyerdynamics it has to do with the voice coil differences. The 600 Ohm has the lightest voice-coil of the DT 880's, this means there is less mass to move and this makes the driver unit itself lighter and thus a faster driver. This makes the 600 Ohm technically superior to the 32 and 250 Ohm versions.

Has anyone had both versions, fully burned in, at the same time, and did a comparison between the two? I'm always a little skeptical of memory-based comparisons.
