I am tempted too rawrster as they look interesting and there is not really any reason for me to buy any other iem's at the moment unless the SE535 or SE425 Come down in price drastically which i doubt will be any time soon .

Nope. I'm getting another impression done sometime this week. I have to call the people who did mine the first time and get an appointment after I get confirmation I can get them for free. The person who answered the phone said it should be no problem but needed to ask the audiologist first and never called me back so I'll call Monday morning to get an appointment.

I don't really have that many in my possession right now actually. I have the M9, PL30, DBA-02 and RE-Zero. For most of the week it's been the DBA-02 but lately the RE-Zero.

Also I don't see SE535 or SE425 going down in price anytime soon to a good price. Shure must have been on drugs when they set the prices for them.

LOL , yep the shure price is just ridiculous ,even more so over here and from what i have read about the SE535 i am not really convinced that anything has been done to the sound signature at all to be honest  .

Its good to hear that your additional impressions will be free

Why don't you guys find the SE535 on ebay, and get an online warranty? Wouldn't that be an option for getting the IEM at a lower price?

@ericp buddy , online warranty , from whom , the ebay seller, ebay themselfs or shure ?

Hello luco, there is a online warranty company on ebay that I've heard very good things about called SquareTrade. I think now they offer three year warranties on the SE535 for like $40. If you can negotiate a good price on the SE535, and this warranty, you have yourself a good deal I would think. Check it out.

No matter what I say @ luco..Nothing will convince you - or the other skeptics - until you hear if for yourself.

I would not say that @ericp , i value your opinion and when you have them both side by side to compair ,then we will get a more definitive  comparison ,, im sure your memory of the SE530 sound is good ,but are minds play tricks on us and it is impossible to be totally accurate going on memory alone of what something sounded like and be 100% sure that's it accurate.

OK Photofan , I've given those settings of yours a test run on my J3, with the following tweak as the J3's eq bands are slightly different:

80hz - wide - 0
220hz - wide - 0
780hz - wide - 0
4.1kz - wide - 3
6.9hz - wide - 2

all other settings at off except
Stereo enhance 2

and you know what? THEY'RE BRILLIANT!! Really bring out the best of the SM3.  I've played a few different tracks across various genres and everything has sounded utterly perfect.

Thanks! I'll stick with these for now, I reckon,

To those who have a Cowon player (I know you do, Benny) , try this:
BBE:0
Mach3bass:0
Stereo enhance: 2
eq:
80hz: 0
230hz: 0
850hz: 0
4.1khz: 3
5.3khz: 2
Yes, it's subtle, but it gives the SM3 a shimmer that's missing in the upper midrange. Let me know what you think!

What I hear now is really about perfect. Really cannot imagine how anything could be improved.

A player with a good eq can be very helpful, imo, as there are iems that only need a tiny amount of tweak to sound right. That's the case of the SM3. However, no matter how much I equalize the IE8, I cannot get them sound as good as the SM3. But now, my SM3 have about the same clarity as the RE-252, but with much better bass and immersion.
