I don't think so. Your 3.5mm plugs only have two contacts. Note the three contacts in the photo below.

Also, on the outside of those plugs are threaded fasteners that screw onto the headphones.

The cable is for meze 99C. But i'm using it on my Z7 right now. The fit is tight. It sounds good with Z7. But i worry about that will something happen if i use it on Z& or not. Maybe i will send to re termination tomorrow.
You don't need the three contacts, it's a mono signal (only two contacts needed). Also the tip on the cable must be + and the upper ring/rest -. It doesn't matter if there is another ring or not, the only important part is the the top two. If you only have mono 3.5mm plugs, they will work just fine, just make sure the tip is + and the rest -.

Interesting. The stock cable included with the Z7 has the same configuration. Even if the two-contact cable works, I wonder if perhaps the third contact is used for some sort of grounding or other shunting that the designers decided is important.

Question: I have both the 3.5mm balanced and 3.5mm SE versions of the Kimber cables for my MDR-Z7. Can I use these same cables with the Z1R?

Thanks, in advance.

Based upon answers I see on Amazon, you can use both of those cables with the Z1R. You can confirm by searching or asking a question in the Z1R thread.

I also have the Z7, the SurfCables single ended, and just ordered the KimberKable single ended. pietcutz, how often do you use thr Z1R vs the Z7? Like many, I’m interested in Z1R, and with the cable investments...

To be honest, most of the time it is the Z1r since I have it. Simply have to many headphones and not enough time. The Z1r is better than the Z7. But the Z7 is 90% there. If you have the choice, what would you do? If there was no Z1r, the Z7 was closed can Endgame to me. All my listening is done from the Sony Walkman NW-WM1A with the balanced Z1r cable. I suggest to go balanced with this DAP, before getting the Z1r. We got a firmware update on the DAP a few days ago, it made the sound even better.
