iPod Classic has poor SQ. iPod Touch 4/5 rank with the best mp3 players on grounds of SQ. (EQ apps help a lot bring out the awesomeness).
These are individual opinions and there's no need to mention IMO in each and every post. There is no absolute truth but there is a consensus.

I would hope so.  But who know, the differences/improvement may just be confined to hi-rez playbacks.

Yeah, I'd just use 256 VBR AAC files, or 16/44 ripped FLAC files. I don't believe in the HD formats any more.

Not really... I don't say that HD formats bring new hearing experiences, however they are limited at best. The reason because I'm acquiring a NWZ F886... is for better hardware compared to my S545.

Agreed, I tend to stay out of the debate. Suffice it to say, the real difference between something that you buy from HDTracks or Acoustic Sounds, or someone like that, is that the re-master the tracks in a good way.

Although I have been a fan of everything I've gotten from Acoustic Sounds. HDTracks has had issues at times.
