Sony NW-ZX300

I tried the HD660S and was really impressed with the pairing, if I didn't require a closed headphone I would have gone with those. Also I think they come with a 4.4mm cable(?).

The Sennheiser 660 is actually made for DAPS and is not 300 Ohm impedance like HD 600/650. It even comes with a cord that has a 4.4 balanced connector for the ZX300. Go to the Headphone section and read all about it.

Thanks, I'll keep my eyes open for a deal on the 660 then.

Solaris and ZX300 balanced...each pushing 200 hours...a beautiful thing to behold.

Hello guys, I own the Sony ZX300 paired with the Sony XBA N3AP wired with the Mee Audio balanced cable. I find it a very special setup.
But sometimes I am very tempted to find another iem (considering always and only the balanced cable).
What do you recommend?
Thanks!

That depends on how much you want to spend. I like the IT04 with a 4.4mm balanced silver cable. Or check the post just before yours :)

I don't have much of a recommendation to make, but how do the two sound when paired up? I'm currently deciding between the N3 and the FiiO FA7. I don't know a whole lot about the FA7s but they're priced at $300. They don't come with 4.4mm, but FiiO does sell aftermarket cables which are relatively less expensive than Sony's.

Hi Steve, thanks for the answer.
I don't know how much money to spend on a new iem, but I would like to spend money only it they are worth. I never heard about Solaris.

In the price range around 500 Euros?
Is there someone who recommends those iem?

For sure the Sony ZX300 is in a totally different world if you connect the balanced 4.4mm cable. For me it's mandatory to use the balanced cable.
Using the N3 with the 3.5mm cable it's really "standard" dap and average sound quality. With the balanced output it's amazing, you will notice the difference.

I got the FA7 a week ago. They are solid, I enjoy them with the Vocal tips. Pairs well with the 300. Use a $30 ChiFi 2.5 cable with iBasso 4.4 adapter.

Nice photo! Would you recommend them over the N3s?

Haven't heard them. From the looks of it, it's a Hybrid so with past experience it should have a heavier bass as its a dynamic vs a BA but you get 4 totals BAs in the FA7 and it's a bassier all BA IEM which is what I wanted

For $600 (so, close to 500 euros) I highly recommend the Empire Ears Bravado. They have awesome bass, great mids and highs. Although the bass is very strong, it never overwhelms that other frequencies. I find them both balanced and fun. They pair perfectly with the ZX300.

oh, almost forgot. They come with the 4.4 mm balanced cable (free option at checkout)

How does the dap determine the album art to display in your artist list when you have multiple albums for said artist?

Checking my ZX300, I believe it's whatever alphabetically comes first.
