I'm new here and just got a ZX300. Only been trying it for half an hour with my ATH-M50x (some will probably cringe now) and I'm insanely impressed. Never had a player that sounded this good.
So now I'm also thinking about upping my headphone game in the near future.
I've been looking at the HD660S and the ATH-R70x. I have a soft spot for Audio Technica so I'd prefer those. But I guess the high impedance would make them unusable with the ZX300?
I'm open to any suggestions and help Still trying to figure this all out. Especially the stuff with balanced cables is totally new to me.
I tried the HD660S and was really impressed with the pairing, if I didn't require a closed headphone I would have gone with those. Also I think they come with a 4.4mm cable(?).

The Sennheiser 660 is actually made for DAPS and is not 300 Ohm impedance like HD 600/650. It even comes with a cord that has a 4.4 balanced connector for the ZX300. Go to the Headphone section and read all about it.
Sony probably only reports what they tested with which is the largest available at that time. A user on the WM1A/Z thread reported that the new SanDisk 1TB worked with no issues.

Did Sennheiser mention that it was specifically designed for DAPs, or is that just an assumption based on the lower impedance? I'm surprised that they included 4.4 balanced though, I had no clue they did this

They did it so it can be paired with the Sennheiser HDV 820, not Sony's own DAPs, 4.4mm balanced pentaconn is an open standard. That said the ZX300 balanced outpout has enough power to drive the HD660S, if you were wondering.

I've heard some good things about the 660s, and the fact that it includes the 4.4m cable is a big plus for me. I might consider this pair along with the Z7M2s when upgrading in the future. Really not sure which I'll like better though.
I myself never considered the internal storage since i have the A 16gb model... I went directly for a 400gb Sandisk microSD...
In fact the internal storage is completely empty if it wasn't for the OS...
