No, it does not unless you plan on using the DT880 32ohms version.
You will either need an external amp or another DAP with a balanced output such as the NW-ZX300.

The A40 should be able to deliver upto 94 dB SPL which is pretty loud. If you listen at 80dB SPL(quietest part of music) and the dynamic range of the music is more than 14dB then it won't sound great. But, most of the music produced today have very short dynamic range with the exception of classical music.

Interesting, the whole roll out. I think it was artificially postponed to clear out the 35s. If you look for a cheap 35, you cant find anymore..they are all gone...they are smart, they did this so you wouldnt have overlapp in which 35s would be half off.

Really think Sony isn't looking to spend the $$$ and change things. Seriously, after the A30 a the designs trial run how could they not move the hold switch to another side and make the PLAY/FF/RW buttons bigger or more spaced out.

A45 add support back for AptX bluetooth and also supports AptX HD
A45 can be used as a USB DAC with a computer
A45 supports MQA

Ah yes BestBuy, I seem to recall they had the A35 available on their Canadian site for all of 30 seconds. Now they don't sell any Sony DAP's at least for now. How are things in Saint Louis! I lived their for almost 11 years and they were the best 11 years of my life.

Depending on who you talk to the sound quality seems to be slightly better. Interface might be more responsive but if you can get a good deal on an A35 then go for it! Here in Canada they sell for the same price so I will opt for the A45 once it becomes available

Got Shipping confirm from BestBuy and tracking number. Looks like I will have it Friday. So anybody looking for one BB has both the Blue and the Grey ready to go. Kind of regret the purchase but I will give it a fair shot. Not a fan of the fact that EQ doesn't work over BT with the player. My 1000mx2's phone App is amazing and not only can I use eq, but crossfeed and bassboost with my phone, but I can use the adaptive sound control. Not sure if the nwa45 can do any of that. I'm guessing probably not.

The headphones will retain the sound settings you set with the Sony app.
I should add- the EQ and sound settings done with the app apply to the headphone’s built in DAC.

Edit: Turns out you have to connect to the Walkman first, then connect to the headphones with the app, and change sound settings after.
