It is time for my first post in this thread. My DTE500 is now fully setup with the right tips, cables and EQ setting. I let two tube pre-amps prepare the sound for my solid state....Aliexpress amplifier. :)

An IEM hooked up on tube amps is not a common sight on head-fi!
.... neither is the panda 😜

That's not quite correct. Since the change of European law in 2021, all purchases, or even gifts, from outside the EU are eligible for VAT (IVA in Spain). Products under 22€ used to be exempt of VAT on import.

What they set up was a system where anything that costs less than 150€ from an online portal would have VAT added at source and then the government would claim that back from the portal (such as AliExpress, Amazon outside EU etc.).

However, the seller has to opt in to that system and if they are not in the system and don't pay the VAT at source, then it is the importer that has to pay it.

What this has led to is all imports that are under 150€ that originate from a company or individual not on the list get stopped by the courier and the courier pays the VAT so they can then charge you a "handling fee" on top of it.

In the case of some companies such as FedEx and our beloved Correos (post office) they like to open all the packages, even the ones that are in the system to "check that the declared value is correct". They then proceed to charge you a fee for this as they never decide that the value is correct.
Hello dear Spanish fellow. After reading your post felt like "this guy really felt my pain".
I am also here in Spain. I bought zmf caldera in December. It came by DHL express. The transport was fast. My package wasn't open by customs, as DHL directly asked me the money from customs.
In exchange of fast processing and no box opening.
In my case I ordered zmf with magnesium and aged copper. I also ordered the grand palladium cable. A total of 4300€ order.
At the zmf site (let me be clear I do not blame them at all, in fact headphones and support was very top) it was calculated around 800€ for customs.
Even I went to the oficial customs site here in Spain, and calculated meticulously the amount I was going to be asked. (Around 830ish €)
Imagine, the morning I woke up and saw the email from DHL asking for 1050€, I got the feeling of a cold knife slicing me open. So that was the DHL "navajazo" (excuse me to use an Spanish word here, it means knife stab).
So long story short, zmf caldera + cable + customs 5350€. Well that's a hit to your wallet, isn't it?
But hey, I am happy with the headphones, the cable and zmf after all.
Now looking to an amp to replace my class A flux fa-12.

By the way I have used a heat shrinkable tube for the grand Silver palladium cable.
Makes me feel safer 😃

Now let's end with this customs rip-off and go back to see some beautiful setups.

I love this forum <3 makes me feel as I am not as sick as any of my friends believe I am 😂

One of my mediocre pics for a change…

It's some of my oldest gear, but it's been so long since I listened to my Grado in their stock(ish) form, it's almost like having a new pair of phones. Props to @jonathan c and all his Grado pics for inspiring me to dig mine out and de-mod them

This is a beautiful, clean, minimal 2 channel setup. The lighting makes it even better.

Plus I can't get over someone naming a speaker, "Dirty Weekend" (that's amazing).

New CD player. A large, old Panasonic Boombox, and I've detached the speakers. Because....

A nice RCA line out. Fairly low output level, so I can comfortably run it into the A1 Tube Preamp.
