I guessed it, it is intended to unify desktop gears, but why do you need battery for desktop design?

We already had Battery powered desktop DAC/AMP. Idea is to simply have always clean power, without need to worry about power conditioning, power cables, your rig sounding different in morning and in evening or your music suddenly sounding harsher if you wife turns on washing machine in next room.

You mean they also deserves the honor for $3k++ trend ? The N8 was insanely priced...

As we are making desktop device,t here are prices at quite different level.

Good quality parts go a long way in producing great sound. How about 2.5k?

With internal memory, you are often either giving people not enough, or forcing them to pay for space they don't need. We prefer this approach, giving people USB ports to connect whatever drives they already have.

People are chasing high-end Audio, yet our most requested streaming platform is Spotify.
I understand USB input for drives, but I don't think that will be popular outside Asia. My preference is for a thin mSata drive, but dual full-size SD be a good 2nd choice.

With regard to streaming, if people get the Android, all services are an option. Qobuz has great sound quality, but low adoption. They almost died in the not too distant past. I'm glad they've survived, but they still aren't popular. They don't have to be with their pricing scheme.

Exactly why DMP-Z1 does the same thing. The interest here is how its all modular.
The fear is tho, as its probably gonna be quite an expensive model is modules develoent gonna be quite slow if interest and sales isnt as high as expected.
Hopefully then its not that painful to the wallet for just entering into the base model. (dap-1amp-1dac-1battery modules only or something)

Completely agree. Sandisk just came our with a 1TB Extreme Pro.

Got Qobuz recently, and I'm very happy with it. I tried them all, and it's the best I tried so far. Don't care much about MQA honestly.

Make it have 2 SD cards please
Under 1.5k

We have no plans to be adding up more SD card slots. Especially when you can simply put SD card into card reader and put it into USB port.
