Shanling M30 - Concept announcement

I was interested, but from the videos it seems we have to put too much hand, it seems to me more a geek gadget than an audiophile and, unfortunately, I am part of the latter.

Please what exactly do you mean? M30 works pretty much as any other Audiophile streamer/music center.

Modular design is something extra, but for majority of users it will be relevant only once they will be upgrading to new module, if ever.

So all the modules in the kit are already mounted? No need to screw or unscrew anything? If so then I was wrong ... I thought it must have to do with screwdrivers and the like.

It arrives all assembled and ready to use.

You will only need to open it if you want to add in your MicroSD card.

What does it mean "to open" to put the sd?

On the vidéos, It looks to be real pain to switch between micro SD cards ...
Come visit us in the thread, it's more active with many users that have the M30 https://www.head-fi.org/threads/int...desktop-hi-fi-streaming-player.952808/page-29

For SD access, you have to unscrew the DAP module to remove it and put the SD card in.

It sounds amazing ? That makes a perfect "no go" in my case for such device. I find already the use of thin pins to extract SD in some DAP like Fiio or Hiby is a real pain and don't use my FIIO and Hiby Daps for such reason.

I wonder, what is the use of such an inaccessible SD reader, if even some music services can't use the SD card for downloading playlists or tracks bought ?

Yeah, it's a pain, but this is an all in one streamer. You are right, everyone has their needs and requirements so not everything will be good to all users. :)

For me, this will be my transportable all in one media streamer. It has Streaming, XLR, RCA, LAN, Wifi, BT (LDAC) and full USB support for HardDisks and SSDs. On the plus side, it also has excellent TUBES implementation too. Not to mention all the different headphone cables connectors inputs for easy access. :)

Yes, it's unfortunate that it's needed to take out two modules to get to the MicroSD card. Original plan was to have it at the back, but later we found out it needs to be in the digital player itself.

If you are going to be switching cards often, our only recommendation is to use the USB ports on the back panel instead and use card reader.

Well it is between this and the LPGT titanium budget-wise. I like being more portable and stationary but this product is very interesting.
