Sennheisers fall from grace.

They are both still on Sennheiser USA, and appear to be in production.
650: http://www.sennheiserusa.com/high-quality-headphones-around-ear_009969
600: http://www.sennheiserusa.com/over-ear-headphones-highest-quality-headphones_004465

Is there a more credible source of the rumors than a cnet page?

By the way, these two pages reveal that Sennheiser USA thinks of the HD600 as having the highest quality, compared to the mere high quality HD650.

They also make a strage distinction between over-ear and around-ear headphones.

Not better just different 600 has more treble making it more neutral but 650 is focussed on bass and mids making it more musical.

I have contacted Sennheiser Germany before and they told me they had no plans of stopping production of either model anytime soon. Don't believe the bogus rumors.

I bet the rumor was started to drive prices up for new and used ones. I have seen this happen a few times in the past with other stuff besides headphones.

Had to do a double take on the thread title. Fall from grace? Makes sense now since it's 5 years old.

Kinda funny actually. Since Sennheiser did the exact opposite of the thread title.
