I mentioned, some time ago, in the K601 love thread that I got a pair of them. Really loving them. I don't think my amp does their soundstage justice, but considering I listen to mostly folk, it's not a big deal. Their tonality alone was worth the upgrade from the K271's.

I didn't think much of them at first but I'm liking my K 601's atm. Their bass is so tight! For some reason they sound really bad out of my hybrid amp, I guess tubes are no good for AKG's? I've been using them straight out of my laptop, and as blasphemous as that may seem, they sound great. I think if I'm going to keep them I'll have to get some kind of solid state source in the future. . . I'm not sure I'll ever really like their sound signature though, because it's kind of weird.

I'll be joining the akg team in a day or two as I have a set of sextetts (MP) en route to my location.  I'm really hoping for grados with more sound stage and nicer mids

Gave away my Grado cans, the busted Sennheiser cans will not be repaired (it was a yearly ritual), and my DT880 spends a lot of time in its case these days.
 
Almost 4 years with 4 AKG cans, and no breakdowns so far, except new batteries for the 999 headsets.

i never heard of team AKG. i guess i count? i am kinda one of the biggest fans of my akg 240 sextetts lp and akg 240DF's. i also do own about every model k240(except the monitors).

i seen his name and i think i message him once maybe(i forgot for what tho).i'm not sure. sometimes i forget what i do. i usually don't pay attention to sigs around here much or read profiles as well so maybe that's why i also never heard of it. i just know of the older k240 headphones from forums and asking AKG themselves on their site for info cause i acquired them from original owners.

No no, nothing like that. It was quite a literal statement... Fitz has an entire closet filled with AKGs.

that'll be interesting to see. he must really like them as well but i understand cause the sextetts are worth to have tons of spares cause they are very good. that's all i been buying lately. i been stocking up on sextetts and DF's i find online cause i personally think they're so good i need to have lot of back-ups just in case and i can usually find them cheaper than the studios(which i have also). i wonder can i buy them straight from AKG as well or is the monitors the only special request you can get off from AKG?
