Just wanted to say exactly the same. I was impressed right from the start, then developed troubles to find the right fit / tip etc., and by now I love them.
How fitting that I just lost my SE530 on a plane (I did another little A/B game on board). A few weeks back I would have been desparate about the loss, now I just see some money-worth gone.

2. Sleek Sa6 with Shure Olive
3. Triple Fi 10 with _______
4. LiveWires
5. Etymotic ER4 with Ety Foam
6. Klipsch X10s

In order of my preference.

I prefer the 3's over the TF10s for sure! For my ears, the Westone 3 are far superior than the TF10s. I found the TF10s to bassy (using comply tips). The 3's are a bit more present with higher notes

Interesting, I would have it this way:

1. Westone 3 with UM-56
2. Livewires
3. SE530 in Livewires custom molded acrylic shell
4. Image X10
5. Stock SE530
6. Triple.fi
7. SA6
8. q-JAYS or Nuforce NE-7M
9. de-podded IM716 (because they must be amped)
10. Denon C700
11. SE310
12. E4c
13. ER6i
14. Super.fi 5 Pro

Where would you place the standard W3 in this ranking (without the UM56)?

so many variables
tongue_smile.gif

ive been hunting down TF10 and W3 comparisions and another user said the opposite. the w3 loses it compared to the TF10's with the higher ranges and while the w3 has a more present bass - the exact opposite of what you just said.

this is what makes this hobby so tough. too much subjectivity. i just need to find someone in norther nj/nyc that will let me use the w3 for like 20 minutes

Over 3 hours later I still have the grey silicone tips installed on the Westone 3 and definitely still rate it #1. Comfort is not too bad either, although my UM-56 or Complys are even more comfortable.

Time to dig out the spare Ety Foams, and compare them with my current favorite: Shure Medium Olives.

Thanks.

In Australia or when sent here, the W3 will end up costing way over $600Aus. I have found a place here that is selling the Sennheiser IE8 for $370Aus. Is the W3 worth the extra money over the Senns and if so, how? The above quote states a deficiency in isolation as a negative, although I have read otherwise with the right tips being used. Soundstage is also much wider in the Senns. Any people with first hand experience please elaborate.
