The only freezing issue I've ever had was trying to play 24/88.2 files as a DAP.  IMO, most the reported freezing is files that are 'incompatible' to the 60x's mind.

I also faced the same problem with 24/96 and 16/64. 24/48 files played fine.

What class SD card is everynoe using? I saw in the HM-801 thread that class 6 could cause some problems with the firmware. Any evidence of that being true for the HM-601?

I think the SD card requirements are basically all the same among their players.

Class 4 is the safest.

Check out the HM801 SD card thread over at Head-Direct sub-forum. It should be the same for HM602 and HM601 as well.

Another question is should I use low gain or high gain for connecting to low impedance headphones or a line-out?

Oh, before I sent them for replacement mine was 0.03. When it comes back I think it will be 0.04

I placed my order for the hm601 combo on 31st Dec 2010 and immediately i received an email from paypal that my payment of USD$259+$20 has been sent to the seller.
 
So then am i supposed to receive a confirmation email from head-direct or an email asking for my mobile number or telling me my delivery status? Or do i just wait for the package to be delivered to my home address?
