Do these last a while? I am having a hard time deciding between the TF10s and RE0 and build quality is really important for me. A lot of people complained that the TF10s break where the moldable wire connects to the earpieces while these suffer from poor build quality. Let me know what your guys' experience with these has been like...preferably those of you who have had these for over a year and used it quite a bit!

I have both TF10 and RE0 for over two years now and they are part of my regular go-to IEM. I can't say I have any problem with them both but I am a very careful user and seldom break anything even in heavy use.

What about the Fiio E1? I could use the volume/seeking control and if it's a benefit for the sound quality as well I might get one.

Ughh, can't get used to the "new" cable. Gets stuck to the velcro on my jacket all the time, so it looks pretty banged up after 2 weeks of use.
Hopefully they got some stock left with the old PVC cable..

Do you mean the cloth or the PPE cable?

My RE0s were ordered 29 days ago, and they came with the PVC/PPE? (non-cloth) cable, and the main problem with it is the slider is too tight, it constrains the cables to the point where actually sliding it is hard, and that worries me somewhat as it puts a lot of stress on the cable above the "Y".

Yeah that's the cloth one.
PPE was the latest version if I remember correctly. PVC was the first.

What is the difference between PPE and PVC?

In real terms, not too much polymer science-talk, please!

Don't know precise, I'm not a professor myself :p
From what I read (in this topic if I remember correctly), the new PPE cable is more durable then the old PVC cable.

But the PPE cable is also a bit more prone to tangling and that "memory-effect" or whatever you call it.
My RE0s have the cloth cable, but my RE-252 has the PPE cable.

Hey to those who RMA'd the RE0, is it normal to receive refurbished products? I've sent in my re0 for RMA and they clearly sent a refurb. There are scuffings on the circular chrome on the ear tip and the white logo being rubbed off on the Y-splitter.

Seems that way based on what others have posted about warranty exchanges with their pairs.

I'm didn't realize this; now I'm glad I requested a return, as I paid for them 29 days ago and took delivery 10 days later or so.

"Ms. T" has a "request in to management"; hopefully I will hear back soon. She seems nice enough

I received mine about a week ago and they are the Hifiman ones, R angle plug, rubber cord. I'm really enjoying these, the detail and seperation are great-upgrading from Maximo im-590. I mostly listen to hard rock, prog metal, and metal, so the bass is fine for me, not as light as I thought it would be reading the thread..
