I’m really excited to get them. I last owned them a little over an year ago but back then I only had the SP1000M to use them with, and I really am not a big fan of that DAP now. I’ve also bought almost every tip from MTMT Audio so they’re much more likely to fit me :) hype!

Are you gonna be driving them out of LPGT?

Hold up

The WM1A was able to drive it? Damn I’m interested lol
Hehe! Well, first I have to add a disclaimer (something I did mention in the review) that my WM1A has been hardware-modded.
It's got a whole bunch of capacitors added amongst other things, including 1 or 2 that are about 5 times the size of the regular ones
I don't know if this directly correlates to more driving power or not?
When I find the time, I'll A/B test it vs my stock WM1Z with the SR2 headphones and see what's what.

Am also going to get that iFi Neo iDSD up and running hopefully today, and then I'll have to A/B test *that* against the WM1A as well
Ditto the Burson 3X, which may (or may not) be coming to me in the next few weeks or so.. waiting on an update regarding that..

Great review! I so much want to post their beautiful sales rep Jannie's pic with it on. If you have been following the DX300 thread, you will know who Jennie is.
No one is stopping you lol. Then I can add it into my review; perhaps it will become more popular then :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
But yeah, thanks for the compliment :)

I’ve been postponing an “2020 in recap” post for ages because gear keeps arriving lol, Noir arrives today and post should be up by this weekend!

Ooh, looking forward to your impressions on that one! :D

No idea honestly... on paper it shouldn’t and I think there’s something about Sony’s DACs that doesn’t allow for a more powerful amp/higher current @Damz87 might be able to enlighten us here

The Burson is awesome, I have one - it’s exclusively in the HP territory though, makes IEMs scream like there’s a soul in there trying to get out

That would probably sound good with certain genres lol
That's bad news for me, as I was planning to use it predominantly with IEMs
Having said that, the reason I was open to trying in the first place was that I heard Barra talking about how it elevated some IEMs to a whole new level.
Unless he meant 'a whole new level of screaming' there's hopefully still going to be some benefits for me :D

I have no idea if modded WM1A’s are more powerful tbh! Maybe the experts @Whitigir and/or @Nayparm can inform us :)

When you put it that way....
Perhaps I should take them down when @Layman1 has finished choosing a pic for the review. Too much distraction from IEM/headphone/DAP discussion. Lol

The Burson Conductor has too much power for IEMs. The new Playmate 2 works great with IEMs since it has both high and low gain.
