Went for audition few days ago during my free time. Very impressed by the sound of Rhines Stage 7. Got my new top 3

Haven't heard any IEM aside from the Bass Freqs, which need to be upgraded in a few ways, one of which that will definitely be done is fabricating some foam tips out of some earplugs, and the other two upgrades that are a maybe if ever are a recable, to put a better cable on these things, or mod them to take detachable cables, and moving the drivers to a custom closed-back wooden enclosure.

Tl;dr. all the headphones I've heard that can be counted as even halfway decent have been supra-aural or circum-aural, aside from the Bass Freqs, so don't got jack to go off of in that department.

It's good that someone separates sound and comfort with IEMs; the 2 are almost as important 
 
My most comfortable IEMs are the ACS Encore Studio Customs, they are also the best sound- the IE800 IEMs are the 2nd best sound and one of the most uncomfortable and inflexible set I have used. Snugs are trying to help me get decent sound and comfort and hopefully they will get there.

Planning on getting Xiaomi Piston 3, expecting them to be the best based on what I have read, will update if I actually get them.
