Don't one end of the cups have a lip for a screen to be attached from the inside? In any case, I will let you know. I would plan on cutting them.

In the pictures, it doesn't look like it, rather they're held in with friction, which is fine by me. One side just looks beveled.

Justin also was into modding the Fostex T50RP headphones for a while, with wooden cups.  The wooden cups were cut by an Amish carpenter in Pennsylvania.  I'm not sure if this is the same case with the Grado cups on eBay, though.
