Probably it is T50 OEM, but the magnet is different...?

Great job neoTT and as wualta pointed out these look a lot like T30

I have epoxy clay here but it's not as easy to work with as I expected, otherwise I'd be faster at prototyping. Damn stuff is expensive too. I use Apoxie Sculpt but apparently I'm not a very good sculptor

I have been thinking about making a wooden press mold to form the stuff with a quick squeeze, the problem being easy removal afterwards. I guess I could mirror coat the molds and line them with oil or grease and knock them out when dry. I dunno, I'll have to ponder a while...

well ideally, i mean with any sanding/finishes on the wood aside, the actual drilling/making of the cups would be a 2 minute process with a drill press.....

Well I can send you a pair of uninished SFI cups if you want.

really? ie, they're drilled and thats it? that'd be perfect, I don't mind doing the finer details to them, I atleast have access to the materials for that.

Random question, of those of you using computer as source, naturally I think it's safe to assume you'd be using foobar2000, that being said, do you use any DSP plugins at all? I'm using no EQ, no DSP, just straight asio4all digital out. Is there something you guys do that I'm not that I could be improving in that aspect or am I doing what I generally should be / should want to be?

Also, is there any reason why I "shouldn't" use bullet connectors to fabricate my own "sennheiser-like" cable disconnect for my headphones? I cant think of any reason why it would degrade sound quality, I mean the bullet connectors are tight fitting and shielded, but correct me if I'm wrong.

Well I just got back from erm visiting the college theater. They have drill presses and the such in the back so I will be ordering a drill bit set tomorrow for my SFIs. I eBayed a silly looking vintage headphone so that is on its way as well.

Thanks so much for the photos!

.
Like the others have said, the driver is visually identical to the Fostex T30.
But also like Wualta said, the sound could be different.

Can you give us any quick impressions of what the Kenwood KH-85 sounds like?

Thanks.

There is a difference... quality, is slightly subjective, but I would agree. I switch back and forth from time to time to get a different feel, though I personally choose foobar the large majority of the time unless I have a real craving for the milkdrop visualizations.

Its worth trying both, doesn't cost anything.
