So we can get custom-like universal Encore?.. Didn't know that.

No, not the Encore, but classic products, that can be done.

If one was to order a universal that is not posted on the web site menu, the wait time could be in theory, two or more months (due to shipping schedules, parts inventory etc).

Without audition? How audacious! (excuse the pun)

I auditioned the Noble line up to the Dulce Bass a couple of weeks ago and the Dulce were my favourites. I only had a few minutes per set, but like you said, the Dulce Bass are really quite versatile. I did the auditioning with a selection of music including Madam Butterfly and Haydn piano concertos and they sounded lovely. I was very close to buying them when I tried the Custom Art Ei.3 and knew I had found the right option for me. Both the Sage and Dulce Bass have stuck in my head however. Very, very nice!

I know, right? Sometimes you just have to go for it. That decision is working out quite well with the Dulce's. I subconsciously navigated to Portishead’s Dummy album earlier this morning, holy smokes! These things were made to play Portishead. The favored low end of the Dulce’s carry the rhythmic bass notes well but the somewhat forward mids nail Beth’s vocals and steal the show. I could use a little more extension in the upper frequencies but the voicing of the Dulce’s as a whole is a pleasure to listen to.

Switching over to Einaudi’s Elements album further showcases the versatile nature of the Dulce’s. Compositions are well layered and intimate. The Dulce’s don’t have the largest soundstage ever but it works given the overall approach and places you more forward in the music.

I'm enjoying my purchase.

Bump.
I'd really appreciate someone from Noble replying to this, as I'd like to know whether it would be worth buying a DAP/DAC with a lower (<1 ohm, or even <0.3 ohms) output impedance to pair with my K10s. I just want to make the most of an amazing pair of headphones by getting the best (and closest to originally intended) sound from them.

I have a question for Dr Moulton – what output impedance are your IEMs (in particular the custom K10) tuned to sound best from? I know the impedance of multi-driver BA IEMs can vary with frequency, which can cause their frequency response to change with increasing impedance of the source they’re paired with. My device has an output impedance of about 3 ohms, but I was wondering if a device with an impedance of 1 ohm or less (assuming all other specs are the same) would produce an audible change in frequency response with the K10, and if this change would bring the frequency response closer to or further away from your intended tuning.

@bangkokkid Awesome IEM! Blue being my favourite colour so they just 'sing' to me :) Great design.

Quick thought, the post of mine above may be misleading, those IEM are not mine unfortunately, I was drooling over the design of them. Lol.

Tried the Kaiser Encore at E-Earphone Tokyo a couple of days ago, and I found them very much closer to the Katana than the K10, actually. I had my custom K10 alongside with me, so I had the chance to compare the 2. The Encore was a lot clearer, with better imaging and instrument separation than the K10. Soundstage was also a touch bigger in all 3 dimensions. The one thing that stood out to me most was its still lush but clear midrange. Still, the K10 retains its bass slant, as well as its more forward mids, which leans closer to my preferences than either the Encore and the Katana. Nevertheless, the Encore is a very impressive IEM, and they definitely warrant a lengthier audition - those who've been to E-Earphone Akihabara know that it can be a bit difficult to audition an IEM for an extended period of time.

Will definitely try the Encore again, if I have the time. Otherwise, I'll have to wait until it reaches Singapore before I'm given the opportunity to audition them thoroughly.

Pretty good work, John and team.
