My replacement 5-way has arrived.  The canals are a good deal longer, providing much more isolation, and the fit is perfect!  Plus, the detachable cable is nice.  I did get a chance to try the TWag cable with them for a bit and do think it improves upon the already great sound. I still have a lot of testing to do, but I think the new 5-way sounds a bit better than the old one for whatever reason.

And on a side note, if there are any new owners of the custom IEMs I have reviews (or even others), we do appreciate when people share their experiences.

Impressive canal tip! Do you need both hands and a lever to pull those customs out?

Yes, the HF-2 does look very interesting, and the price seems to be right.  The sound signature of the Starkey products I have is, like the ACS T1 (although different), natural vs. on the brighter side like the LS8 and JH16.  So if the HF-2 is similar, which I don't see why it wouldn't be, then should be nice.

Been mailing a bit with the company and it seems I'll be doing a review of the HF-2. Seems like it could be a great CIEM for first-time buyers who don't wanna spend all that much. I'll be sure to post my thoughts on the product here once I get my hands on it.

Interesting about your 5-Way. Always been very interested in that particular CIEM.

Looks great joe. I still think the bass is soften and the vocal is brought closer when I listen with Twag cable.  With stock cable the sound is more 3D. and the vocal is put in a very great position. Looking forward to more of your impressions.

Thanks for bringing that up.  Removal of a silicone shell, especially with a long canal, requires you to pull on the shell and not the cable.  My acrylic shelled CIEMs can twist out with a simple push on the cable joint area which is much faster and easier, but I am not complaining

Great! looks neat! Do I see FK driver for a super tweeter?

Whose and what model is the one on the right side? Is that joker's 3way?

The model on the right is my old 5-way.  And I haven't tried to figure out what driver is what, but there are no duals in the 5-way.  Jokers 3-way is in his ears, er, with him.

Very cool, I will look forward to your HF-2 review.

I will have to do some more listening as I didn't spend much time comparing, but I did get the opposite feel from you.  Are you putting the cable dots in the same orientation?

Yes, FK is single.  I am just saying the Spiral Ear doesn't use any duals like most other high driver count custom IEMs.  I have seen so many TWFKs...

Whatever works best for you should be what you use, and I still have much listening to do with the TWag/5-way combo.

I read you.

I wonder when manufacturers start using Sonion 4400 (dual driver) which is half size TWFK and just as good. Miniaturization is a b....

I know it's Grzegorz's policy since the begining of his official work on custom IEMs in 2008 or 2009. I remeber discussing with him advantages and disadvantages of dual drivers back in the days :)
