They're stunning otherwise. And it's not as bad as the previous version, but my graph looks nothing like the one posted at the beginning of the thread. Still has a pretty pronounced void there. The other areas have a good deal of variation as well. It could be artifacts from my rig of course, but it sounds pretty spot on to my ears. I would have been EQing them either way, so it really isn't a problem for me, but I checked the fazor profile and it's the new 2021 version. Unless the reused the drivers, but this feels more like manufacturing variation to me. I dunno. I can post the graph now though. :)

This is taken with an EARS? Are your other graphs taken with this rig accurate? I've heard it doesn't produce accurate measurements compared to the GRAS unit that Resolve took his measurements with at the beginning of the thread.

You heard right, 1-8kHz is much more accurate on GRAS rigs.

Looking to purchase the LCD X vs. the DT1990s. Is there a huge difference in comfort and sound quality, that would justify the extra $700?
I'd say DT1990 is more comfortable simply because it's less heavy, though LCD-X is more detailed. I'd say they have similar problems with the treble being boosted, though the DT1990's problem is across the whole treble spectrum, from 5khz all the way up is boosted; whereas LCD-X's (and LCDs in general) only problem is there's too much air above 10kHz.

Anyone hear if Sankar released the new pad 2021 graphs on Discord yet?

I'm trying to decide between the 2021 Rosewood LCD2F or the 2021 LCDX and I'd love to at least see a couple graphs to base an opinion on.

There haven’t been any graphs released yet afaik. Nothing on the discord, head-fi, or their website.
In fact, there is no certainty on whether these graphs will be made using the Neumann mic they have been using for a while now or the GRAS rig they recently acquired. I hope they release them soon though! I’m thinking of making an upgrade to the LCD-3 and would like to make sure I’m not going too far away from neutrality with that choice

Decided on getting the LCDX over the Rosewood. Now just wondering about pads. Anyone know if there is a difference in the tuning between the vegan and leather pads?

I'm looking for an overall warmer sound with emphasis on bass.

Your better off getting used to eq then pad swapping, it will make a bigger difference especially if you want to emphasize bass. The sound you describe that you are looking for is not the stock lcdx

Sounds like the LCD-2 would be more your cup of tea. Not sure what difference the 2021 pads make though. I've got late 2020s. They're pretty easy to eq, and the new version will still need eq.

I 100% agree with Kevintj604 the pads for these will only provide very subtle differences (Leather= slightly better low end). In my experience of owning many Audeze headphones they take EQ better than any I have tried. And with these being that much closer to a neutral baseline, they will require minimal tinkering to get them to your preference. Where you may like leather of pleather pads or vice versa, they will only skew the headphone to first base. EQ will give you instant home run control.

Thanks for all the responses fellas. I've decided to go with the LCDX and I'll just EQ a bit. I watched Resolve & Chrono's review of the LCD2 2020 and looked at the graphs and it looks like the X falls better in line with what i'm looking for. I really liked the LCD-XC 2021 except for the upper mids/lower treble and it looks like thats fixed on the LCDX. I'll have to just EQ out the excess energy out of the upper treble.

If that doesn't do it I might try some Dekoni pads but I'm pretty certain that at this point i'm just chasing a dragon.

Anyone flare the FR charts on the site? Been checking this week…don’t see them.
it is there some where, you can add bass to your liking and generaly 1-3db into 4-6khz to open them a little more
