Anyone find the FR charts on the site? Been checking this week…don’t see them.
They intended to release them this week but it looks like they’re taking a bit more time to get them. I’m guessing they’d be on head-fi first but who knows.

I’ve had the new LCD-X a couple of weeks now and they’re really starting to open up. So far I’m not feeling the need to EQ them, I wasn’t expecting bass heavy cans, and they more than make up for it in detail, clarity and dynamics. Overall they are a very engaging set of headphones that will be my daily drivers for some time to come. Audeze really knocked it out of the park on this revision. (They also have great synergy with a Gustard X16 / Singxer SA-1 for those wondering)

Are you talking about the X or XC?

I had the XC and sold them. I've now purchased the X and should get them in a couple weeks.

If you like the X without eq your going to love them with it
So true. EQ is one of the most powerful tools in the audio enthusiast’s tool kit and the Audeze headphones are uniquely equipped to handle a good amount of EQ without distorting or changing other characteristics.

I do wish Audeze would do a little more to help the user get a neutral sound. Perhaps the reveal presets could be a little more aggressive or could potentially even be personalized by serial number. They could easily sell personalized EQ settings by serial number for a decent amount of money. I personally would pay a decent amount for this.

The problem with that is that the tuning of there headphones varies dramatically even between the same model
Yes, but if they offered custom EQ by serial number what they could do is measure the headphone in-house and then devise an EQ for it to meet the target and then sell the user a code that they could plug into the reveal app in order to apply the filter.

In fact, with their custom HRTF feature on the reveal plus app (through embody) they could even devise an algorithm that would change the target from Harman or Audeze’s house target to that of your own personal HRTF. It would add a lot of value to their headphones in my opinion. An LCD-X tuned to your own HRTF could likely out-perform every headphone up to 2k unless someone disliked the build and weight.

They would probably charge as much as the headphone but it would be a cool service
ya I’m totally unsure of how much a service like this would cost for them. I know sonarworks does custom measurements. Not sure what they’re charging.

I think many people would appreciate more corrective filters in the reveal plugin though.

For my Audeze LCDX 2021, after one month of experimenting, I finally found the EQ I wanted and dont have to tweak it every few hours.
It is:
----------------------------------------------
+6db 150Hz Q 0,7 - low shelf
+3db 4,7kHz Q 0,8 - peak
----------------------------------------------
Explanation is: I wanted to get that acoustic guitar + similar tonality I have had on F. Clears.
Also I wanted to not only have present bass, but bass that actually kicks when needed.
Both my EQ tweaks had impact on acoustic guitar which now sounds very real to me, it somehow wide-up the soundstage too! (to my ears xd).
This is almost perfect sound for me!

Also, dont want to double post so here is some "bonus":

I have RME ADI 2 DAC FS.
I wanted to try adding to chain amp Burson Soloist 3XP to see if things improve even more.
Not realy tho! The ADI-2 is very enough for the X.
Its not that Soloist 3XP is bad, I actually believe its very good amp, but for the 20Ohm X's, the ADI-2 is more then enough. I hear some things, but it can be placebo, not sure about the blind test. So I will return that.

I am very happy with RME ADI 2 DAC FS + LCD X 2021 now :-)

Happy listening to everyone!

Accurate AF

I’m giving Roon’s Parametric EQ a try with @Golyatx settings from above (I was going to start with a low shelf bass boost of +6db anyway so this seemed like a good place to start). Sounds amazing so far, with one caveat. Due to DSP Roon has to do the first unfold on MQA sources but it preserves the signal so the X16 can complete the render (MQA shows as OFS on the DAC, so I’m giving up the ability to have hardware decoding and rendering by using Roon’s EQ which is one of the reasons I ended up purchasing the X16). Maybe I should have bought the RME ADI 2 DAC FS after all? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
