I think folks are making it a lot worse than what's really going on...I think the likely hood we get JH3As after the New Year is relatively high (a bad POT is not a design disaster, they need to work with their vendor to discover why this isn't working as it did in the beta and make corrections/get new parts).
 
The BIGGEST mistake in my eyes is the pre-order process.  They have our money.  This has put a lot of pressure on JHA to deliver in a timely fashion.  I realize they are not holding us hostage - you want your money back, just send one quick email.  However, there would be a lot less turmoil regarding product delays due to internal personnel conflicts and problems with third-party vendors.
 
I think the product will be superb.  I just think the longer they wait, the less splash it will make and the more time it gives their competitors to catch up.
 
If I had to ask one thing of JHA now is that they include something special for the pre-order folks...I don't know what...but something....

hopefully you'll have your set up fairly soon - mebbe just a few weeks now - and hopefully once you have them all this angst will be forgotten as you'll have a blissful listening experience. i'm sure Kunlun's right that it won't be perfect, but it may well be closer to that ideal than anything you've heard.

it may be little consolation but these delays are very common with products coming to the market, and there've been many threads dealing with products that folks wanted and expected to come out months sooner than they did (eg. all the early triple driver iems such as shure e500s, ue triple.fi 10 pros, westone 3s). once they came out folks were very excited. i know you laid out a lot of money up front and were expecting them 3 months ago, but this too shall pass, and probably pretty soon. good luck and try to have a happy holiday

I don't think it's asking too much for JH-13s at their cost. I didn't say free. JH used my money to invest in the JH-3s production.
That would be my suggestion but they don't have to do a thing as there was no agreement when I signed on.

yeah some sort of special or a free jh5 for us jh3a buyers would be awesome *new ones* because it would benefit us when we don't want to carry around the jh3a+jh1* and would be nice XD.

Again that is advertising their COST.  That is a lot to ask.  I like the idea of free 5As.  That is more reasonable.  Again, I don't have a good suggestion (I actually asked about an upgraded case that fits both JH3A and 13/16P etc.).

I assume that you are aware that "at cost" does not mean that they should give them away but rather that they should only charge what it cost them to make the item rather than charge rrp

When a company gives things out "at cost" it also leads to what margin they make on the item.  A lot of companies would not feel comfortable with that kind of market knowledge leaking out.

Right.  I don't think its a good idea anyway.  I don't need another custom. 
 
I just want the JH3A project working/testing and ready to be delivered by end of January.
