If you could only own ONE headphone forever, it would be _____?

Tough decision. These would be an earbuds definitely since they may serve well in more situations than any other types. So I will stay with Blox TM5 or Yuin PK1 (have to re-compare for ultimate choice).

for now..the M50,  they suit my taste best.    it would be sad to let the RS1 go but unfortunately they are not good all arounders so it won't be a smart thing to do.

Sorry for the previous answer, I did not read the rules before. According to the rules, the winner is...

      Beyerdynamic Tesla T1!

I yet to hear HD800, JH13, Omega.

If you could only own one headphone for the rest of eternity, which would it be....

When deciding your choice do NOT consider the following factors:

1. Portability (however if your favorite sounding headphone is a portable one, by all means you can choose it)
2. Price / rarity
3. How hard it is to drive
4. Whether it is opened or closed

What you SHOULD consider:
1. Sound quality
2. Durability
3. How it suits the genres you prefer

LASTLY, only mention a headphone you have heard.......you do not need to own the headphone to choose it though.

My ESW9s. Yes, I think I like them better than my MS-Pros.

Well, to these ears, it's most definitely the other way around. I unregrettably sold off my ESW9 just last month because they seldom get the airtime relative to my MS-Pros. I admit that the ATs are the more forgiving cans, but they lack the air and come short on textural definition as well as tonal correctness of the Alessandros. Until I get to lay my ears on a pair of LCD-2s, I reckon I'll stay glued on to my Pros, while marooned in a desolated island or inside them nuclear proof bunkers waiting on those radioactive dusts to finally settle (uhm, I seem to have forgotten what the offered scenario was

DT770/600 ohm.

While far from perfect, they would be just fine if I had to keep only one.

1) Closed, a must for 'all-round' listening.
2) SQ is great (for a closed can). DT880/600 ohm is superior, but are open, so can't be 'all-round' - for me.
3) I haven't heard - or purchased - the JVC DX1000, so until then... well, there it is.
4) I haven't heard - or purchased - the JH13, but even if I found them incredible, I can only take IEM's for so long. I can handle full-sized for just a little longer.

At this time. I would choose my Pioneer SE-30 headphones. Love em to death. Sound beautiful to my ears and extremely comfortable. Too bad they're showing cosmetic signs of age.

From what I currently own; DT880 600ohm. I have not heard the HP-1000, but considering I listen to rock, metal and jazz sometimes, I am guessing they would be a perfect choice

Joseph Grado HP-2's or Fischer Audio DBA-02's.

I think I would be happy with either one.
