Hi guys, I don't know if this was mentioned already in the thread but is there any way to do Line out with this without resorting to the dock port under the 901? I currently have the balanced card version.

The dock port is designed to be the all in one connection (apart from headphones obviously) just like you see on iPods and iPhones, so line out is only that way - as well as digital in/out and data transfer.

I don't have my 901 yet, but this is what I get from reading just about all there is (in English).

Does the abyss' sound get noticeably worse when running it straight out of the hm901 vs running it from a desktop rig? Or does the 901 actually do pretty well all these considered?

As my desktop rig right now is out of reach, I can't really answer that yet... though I do love the sound of the 901 with the Abyss.
